On Feb 20, 2025, I purchased a 2011 Camry from Riverside Auto Sales. I checked it out drove it, read all the information given to me from riverside from Oh Autocheck, this car a According to Riverside was a great car! Three days later the car starts giving codes check engine. The Mechanic i brought it to tells me it was wrecked in the front and back, he shows me where paint was splatter on the engine, and how it didnt line up in the back, where it had been wrecked and has extensive rust underneath, so equipped with photos and also information from Carfax that its reported one wreck and 3 prior owners, (auto check did not have this on it) I go back to the Riverside, they take the car in the back a hour later, the mechanic and the dealer bring it out and tell me, they would not have known about the wrecks, The mechanic tells me he has fixed many Toyota cars has 19 years of experience and this is a great car for the price all i need is a 25 dollar part and labor cost for a Exhaust leak, They never offered to fix it and I leave feeling still uneasy since just standing there talking to them the car is shaking and Idling rough and it runs rough all the way home. I go to My mechanic and he tells me the head gasket is blown and the radiator is bad also. He says something has been sprayed on the engine to temporally fix a blown head Gasket. He gives me a bag of soot like stuff from the engine. He tell me it will be over 6 thousand dollars to put a Whole new engine and radiator in! I had this car a lil over a month barely drove it, I paid 10,221 for this car. I did sign a AS Is contract, however it is illegal to not disclose information about a car! The hood was barely up My mechanic knew it was wrecked , their Mechanic would of also, and engine fail! Carfax said 3 prior owners, I found titled to the same man who sold cars also but he is deceased 1/25. I also have not gotten the title yet! No answer from Riverside, this has been a horror, I just want my money back.

On Feb 20, 2025, the customer purchased a 14-year-old vehicle with 158,396 miles AS-IS.  We do utilize AutoCheck for our vehicle history reports being the largest auction in the US utilizes that and we align with them.  We do not provide or use CarFax, however customers are free to purchase CarFax at their own will.  Neither CarFax nor AutoCheck are 100% accurate 100% of the time.  We have seen both ways that one may have information that the other does not, these are only guides and we can only give information that we have at hand.  We have not heard of any engine lights 3 days later; this is new to us.  We have only heard of her mechanic stating the vehicle was rusted out, that is when we offered for the customer to bring the car in for Riverside to inspect it and it turned out that her vehicle was not rusted out and that her mechanic had given her false information.  Her mechanic also stated that the front had been in an accident, after research we found that the previous dealer that owned the vehicle didn't like the condition of the front bumper cover, and he had it replaced and repainted.  Another false statement made by her mechanic.  The only thing that we did find when the car was brought in was that it needed a new gasket for an exhaust leak, which is where we gave her a price of $25.00 plus labor to repair it.  If the customer has developed a new issue, this is the first time we have heard of it.  However, if there is a blown head gasket and a bad radiator that typically means that there was a coolant leak that was not addressed and someone continued to drive the car until the engine overheated and blew the head gasket.  This is negligence of the customer or the person driving the vehicle.  After the consumer made threats and cursed at staff members, we will no longer extend any other help or have any further communication with this individual.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

once again I was never told about anything about why the front of that car being painted,  both Mechanics that looked at at it said they knew it was wrecked not just painted . and  I did call and tell them about the engine light coming on and I did go down to Riverside to bring the car in about the engine light being on and ask about it being wrecked and they said they went over the  car with a fine tooth comb and the mechanic had 19 years of experience and they told me that day,  was have an exhaust leak to fix! fix! Also strangely enough When I brought the car in the mechanic that I  had to go to they found something that been sprayed in the engine to temporarily fix a head gasket blown! While i may have sent a heated text about this car, I have a witness that was with me when we brought this car back and the mechanic also told him right into his face and his eyes that this was a sound  car. The only thing that needed to be done was a Exhaust leak!a 25 dollar part!  They lied to me never told me anything about why it was painted and they lied about it being wrecked denied knowing anything about a wreck or paint! Exhaust leak! I was in touch right away with them ! Not only the Mechanic and the dealer assured me the reason the car had a engine light on  and it was running rough Was from an exhaust leak! I feel now i have to contact a lawyer! I have only had this car 41 days! It was nothing i did! Had i had any information they had I would of never bought that car! ******************

I was lied to about the damage that occurred with the car. Water leaks into the car on the left side and also in the trunk . There is mold growing all through the trunk and on the driver side under the carpet . The auto check car fax that the dealership gave me shows no damage but the Car Fax that my insurance company pulled shows minor damage to the car . The claims adjuster said the car is now a bio hazard but my claim was denied due the car fax showing prior damage and the insurance company feels that it’s wear and tear . I was lied to by the dealership

There are multiple vehicle history report suppliers. We utilize Autocheck, which aligns with what the auctions utilize. We provided ******** ****** the information that we had access to when she purchased the 2017 Lincoln MKZ on July 22, 2022.  According to the Carfax that ******** provided in her complaint, it does show that at some point that there was Very Minor Damage reported on the vehicle. Typically Very Minor Damage (defined by carfax) is usually cosmetic, including dents or scratches to the vehicle, which is nonstructural, and would not cause misalignments of body panels or cause leaks.  I do not believe that the Very Minor Damage has any bearing on water entering into the trunk of the vehicle. I would side with the insurance company as a "wear and tear issue" on a 7+ year old vehicle.  It is not uncommon to see vehicles of this age develop a leak from deterioration of seals around antennas, doors and any access points as well as sunroofs or the drains from the sunroofs being clogged due to debris over time.  Had this been an issue prior to the sale, it would have been evident before 2+ years after she purchased the vehicle.  The vehicle was sold as-is.

Add to response:  The Autocheck that was provided to ******** at the time of the sale showed no damage and no accident. An Autocheck was pulled again on December 5, 2024 and it still shows no damage and no accident to the 2017 Lincoln MKZ.  December 5, 2024 was the first time we had heard from ******** since she purchased the 2017 Lincoln MKZ July 22, 2022.  We are yet to be contacted to set up an inspection to determine the source of the leak, she is more than welcome to contact ***** at one of the Riverside locations for an inspection appointment.

****************** purchased a 07 Dodge Ram 3500 with ******* miles on it on 4/30/24.  He financed with Credit Acceptance.  ****************** did have a ******** trade in.  The payoff was mailed out to *********** on May 2, 2024, in the amount of $9900.00 which is the amount that ****************** provided for his 10-day payoff.  We did not know that the check did not make it to *********** until I received this complaint.  We immediately called *********** 6/26/24 and they cannot find the check that we mailed in on May 2, 2024.  We have overnighted a new check for the new full payoff check as of today in the new amount of $10,0147.67, which is the updated payoff to date from ***********.  The overnight tracking number is 9470103699300075683523.  We have also requested *********** to refer to the Bill of Sale for the trade date as to update ********************** account with them.  I am sorry for any inconvenience, and this would have been handled sooner if I would have known about the lost mail.

Company fraudulently added a 2004 Chevy trailblazer as a trade for my purchase of a 2016 Cadillac Escalade thru capital one financial. I was contacted by Riverside Auto sales stating that capital one has demanded Riverside payment in full on my auto loan due to this fraudulent transaction. Riverside has tried to resolve the matter with terms that aren’t fair. I’ve put $11,000.00 down on the Cadillac and no trade. Riverside has defrauded Capital one Auto as well as defrauded me with a bogus trade of a 2004 Chevy trailblazer green with 210,000 miles for a trade value of $175. If I were to trade a vehicle I would take no less than $1000 on the trade but I’ve never owned a 2004 Chevy trailblazer nor did I ever trade one on my deal on February 28 2023! Riverside has committed fraud!
