    Government Action: BBB reports on known government actions involving business’ marketplace conduct:
    United States of America vs Jennifer Lynn Girardin and Jessica Prince

    On October 28, 2020, United States Attorney, Erica H. McDonald, announced three separate indictments charging 60 defendants for their roles in a $300 million nationwide telemarketing fraud scheme targeting elderly and vulnerable victims.  The charges include conspiracy, mail fraud, wire fraud, and violating the Senior Citizens Marketing Scams Act of 1994.  The defendants are located in 14 states, 16 judicial districts and two Canadian Provinces. 

    Jessica Prince, Call Center Manager for Reader’s Club of America, is charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud, wire fraud and violating the SCAMS Act.   

    Jennifer Girardin, owner of Reader’s Club of America, is involved in fraudulent magazine sales. 

    The case is pending.
