Brief description of complaint: My 2011 Honda Accord went to McCarthy Chevrolet Marshal Mo. in April 2021 and then was determined that they could not properly repair my car so it was transferred to McCarthy Toyota in Sedalia Mo.. ****** called me and said my car was ready yesterday and when my wife and I drove approximately 2hours to pickup my car after an engine replacement for 3months my car would not start and the car was dirty and *****(Service Advisor) said he couldnt wash the car because they didnt have a car wash. Now they are telling me that my brand new battery needs to be replaced by me, after not starting my car for three months they possibly drained my battery . Is it possible that the battery after being with McCarthy that the battery was never started during the three months and this drained it ? ***(General Manager) was on the phone with me today and cut me off while I was talking and I mentioned to him that I wasnt done talking *** said we’re done. Need new batter.Business response

****** ******I don’t feel a storage fee is appropriate while I wait on a response from the better business bureau to help resolve my complaint about McCarthy Chevrolet draining my battery after two months of not starting my car or charging my battery while the car sat for two months. Once that battery reads a charge of less than 12 volts it will never be the same again. I should not have to go back to the place I purchased the battery from to inquire about the warranty when McCarthy Toyota and McCarthy Chevrolet being professionals know that not starting the car after two months will drain the battery and the service manager also told me he could not wash my car. I’m African American. I need them to supply me with a new battery and remove the storage fee.
The General manager further inflamed the matter when I was talking and he cut me off and I said I was not finished talking and he said “don’t talk to him that away and said he was done and he was just trying to help.” Okay but it would be a good idea not to bully me.
