I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against DC Auto Sales regarding the recent purchase of a vehicle from your establishment. On 3/12/24, I purchased a vehicle from DC Auto Sales, paying a total down payment of $3800, consisting of $3500 in cash and debit card payments, with the remaining differed down payment of $300 to be paid off in installments along with my car payments. However, I am deeply dissatisfied with the product and service I have received.Within just two weeks of owning the vehicle, I began experiencing significant engine issues, which upon inspection by a reputable mechanic, were estimated to cost $500 to repair. Upon reaching out to your salesperson, ********, I was directed to a mechanic named ****, who not only dismissed my concerns but also indicated that the repair would indeed cost $500.Furthermore, it has come to my attention that there are discrepancies with the vehicle's mileage, as the odometer reading on the title provided to me at the time of purchase differs from the mileage recorded when the vehicle was sold to ********. It is evident that the mileage has been rolled back by 500 miles, which is highly concerning and indicative of deceptive practices.Despite my attempts to address these issues with ********, she has failed to provide adequate resolution or even a clear course of action. Her suggestion to seek repairs at another shop in ********, purportedly due to discounts she receives, is not only unhelpful but also raises questions about the integrity of the repairs and potential conflicts of interest. At this point, I am left with no option but to demand a full refund for the faulty vehicle that was sold to me under false pretenses. If DC Auto Sales fails to comply with this request, I will be left with no choice but to pursue legal action to seek redress for the damages incurred as a result of this transaction, including the cost of repairs, inconvenience, and any associated legal fees.I expect a prompt response to this matter and a resolution that reflects accountability for the substandard product and service provided by DC Auto Sales. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss further steps in rectifying this situation.Sincerely,************************* ************ ***********************Business Response

On 3/31/2024, DC Auto Sales sold ************************* a 2010 Dodge Journey VIN# *****************. At the time of purchase the customer was provided a safety and an emissions inspection that were performed on 03/07/2024. ***************** had purchased the above described vehicle in AS-IS condition and signed three different papers acknowledging it being sold AS-IS. A couple of weeks later she contacted our office and complained about it running rough. We explained to her that the vehicle she purchased was sold in AS-IS condition but we would go ahead and help her with problem. We sent her to a shop and was told it needed the throttle body replaced and we paid that repair for her and it cost us $250.00. We purchased this vehicle at Manheim St. ****************** and at the time of purchase on 02/27/2024 the miles were 141,175. We then picked up the vehicle and sent it to an inspection station and the miles at that time were then 141,208. There is absolutely no evidence of any odometer roll back whatsoever. DC Auto Sales is not responsible for any repairs to ********************* vehicle. I am providing all the paperwork showing what is described above.Initial Complaint

I have a 2015 Kia Sorrento. In August 2022 I put $5,000, and the total cost is $12,000. It was sold as is. Within 2 weeks of me pulling the car off the lot I had to put money in the car right away. I pay $270 faithfully per month for the car. I paid $700 3 times to get the truck fixed. It never lasted more than a day. I was told the car needed a new ignition lock and a new control lock on the front wheel. Last week I gave them $700 for the 3rd time to fix the truck. I was told the vehicle was fixed. It only lasted for enough time for me to make it to the gas station. The car would not start back up. I had to get it towed from the gas station. So the next day I went back to the DC Auto Sales and they said it's an as is vehicle and it doesn't matter if the truck is working. I was told I would need to call the police. They will not meet me half way in this situation. They are unwilling to give me any money back or do anything about the issue. I've already given them close to 9,000 and haven't driven my vehicle for more than 60 days.Business Response

Mr ***** did purchase this vehicle in August of 2022 for $10,995.00 and not $12,000.00. When he purchased the vehicle he was aware that it was purchased in AS-IS condition. Before Mr ***** purchased the vehicle it had passed a safety and emission inspection and that was provided to him at the time of the sale. What Mr ***** has failed to mention here was that his vehicle was broken into and someone had messed with the ignition and tried to steal his vehicle. SInce that has happened he has had trouble with the vehicle. DC Auto Sales is not responsible for this issue. I would assume he could contact his insurance company about his issue.Initial Complaint

I believe that they knowingly sold me a car with a defect catalytic converter. It started a week after I bought it. When I took it in to them and the only thing they did was a code check and they said nothing was wrong. They kept it until after the temp tag expired. I took it to my regular mechanic and he said it needed a new catalytic converter.Business Response
