*** and his business were contracted to ********** our building. On 10-30-24 the crew was on a lift with high pressure spray, spraying directly at our windows. I went outside to stop them as I had replaced all 48 fogged windows in 2016 and 2017. The building is over 100 years old and the windows are prone to fog if the seal is broken. I washed all of the windows at the end of April 2024 At that time I counted how many were fogged and was in the process of having those windows rep[laced. Unfortunately his employees did not speak English so they putt my on the phone with someone who could speak a little English and I told him they must stop with the spraying as it would damage the seals of the panes. I emailed our property manager to have her get in touch with *** Galati and warn him of the danger to my windows. One hour later they started to spray again on my living room and my master bedroom. Water was coming inside our windows. The next day our windows started to fog and got worse over the next few days. The property manager told me to contact *** to let him know. He said he would take care of it but months went by with no word from him. I then got in touch with him again and finally he filed a claim with his insurance company ******************** in Chesterfield Mo. They took no responsibility for the damage and said it could not be proved that this caused the damage. I have 3 eye witnesses as to the damage and three that saw the windows the day I cleaned them with only 5 fogged. I have pictures of before and after as well as pictures of the day it was happening. It sounded like bullets were hitting our windows. The reason they started a hour later is because *** the owner told them to continue. The 40 that the seals were broken on is ***** to replace. I got three bids to make sure I got the best price. Now Galati is refusing to make this right. You will see damage to the keypad and directory. I am contacting the Attorney General to see if they can help me as well

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.

I would like to clarify the process we followed when cleaning the windows during our recent work on the building in which you reside. As part of our standard procedure, we use water from the buildings water supply along with a 200 ft garden hose to clean up our jobsite and rinse off the dust and debris. At no point during this process did we use a high-pressure hose, as this is not part of our practice and could potentially cause damage to delicate surfaces. This is and always has been our procedure for the Twenty plus years we have been performing repairs on this building without incident.

We also met with you, our insurance representative, and the crew that was on the jobsite to demonstrate the process we followed the day we rinsed off the jobsite. We used the same water supply from the building, and the same 200 ft. garden hose we used the day we rinsed down the jobsite. We even stopped and waited for the water pressure to build up per your request because the water pressure was not that strong, and it still was not very much pressure.

I understand you are concerned about the condition of the windows. As you stated, you replaced 48 fogged windows in 2016 and 2017, and more had fogged between 2017 and April of 2024, prior to us performing our work on the building in October. You also mentioned on the day we met with you that a utiity company shot water from the fire hydrant over your windows. That would certainly be enough pressure to cause damage. Based on our methods, our insurance companys analysis, and the fact that we did not use high pressure equipment, we believe the fogging may be due to other factors, environmental conditions, or the age of the windows themselves. As you stated, the building is over One Hundred years old. We have extensive experience working with properties of various ages and have always taken precautions to ensure we do not cause damage.

    Sincerely,

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because: It is incorrect that the staff used just a garden hose. Myself and my husband were present when this happened and it sounded extremely loud when the windows were being sprayed. ******************** came out to assess the windows and stated we could not prove it was the company that caused the fogging. I know for a fact they weren't fogged before they came and I have before and after photos. I also have 3 different bids from 3 different companies. ******************** is not wanting to take responsibility. *** says he was not aware of the issue but I notified the property manager immediately who emailed ***. It also was not a fire hydrant that wet the windows, it was a water meter reader that hit ONE of the panes which I showed them.

    Sincerely,
