Yeah I have had a really slow terrible experience all around so far. In all the education organizations I have attended from other colleges here to AZ and TX...Healthcare Education LLC on Lusher Rd is siloed and unethical. The instructor here and the Director of ****** ****** **** go about disregarding students and their right’s without consideration of the fact there of. From the first day they have shown to be unprofessional and unprepared. I waited outside for 5 minutes until I was let into the door because Ms. ******* (my instructor) thought there wasn’t class that day... I can understand. All through the class period, she’s arguing with another instructor in front of me being very inappropriate and just very uncanning. Here comes the following class period, she tells me she has given me the wrong book after I have just completed all the work requirements for that chapter... and she’s arguing more. I get sent on my way and my time is being wasted because the book requires some major attention and at this point my ride just left. She could have told us this before class started of how short classes will be. I’m a single mother, I work, I have to figure out rides and who watches my son. My moms gone, I had recently gotten into a wreck so my car is finished, I’m being harassed. Matter of fact, I was actually put on the street but still made it to class that day. I have problems like everybody else. I’m just by myself trying to get help where I can get it and it’s just too many things hitting hard this month for people to be so ill mannered and playing when it comes to my time and education. Now at my next class period, she’s telling me to “open my ears and listen” and arguing with the other employee more over a WiFi password she could have did in the other room. She rushes through the book and testing. To my understanding, I am their from 10-2 to learn something other than how to read and watch a video. But I’m leaving at 11-11-30. How about going over the last material? Or the test? But I try not to pay it no mind because I do have a busy schedule but when I’m at school, I’m at school. I am scheduled to be here at a certain time and to leave at a certain time. She won’t give full explanations to my questions on new material other than “your going to have to read it”... and I don’t trust I am even getting full credit for the right answers she marks wrong when we have a test. Since we are not diving deep into the material together, I have to kind-of self teach myself. I do make sure when I do go over the context, I am really learning and looking up videos. I really put my time, energy, and so much effort into this so I want my full credit where credit is due. As a student, I have the right to free speech even if she doesn’t like it, I have the right to correct the teacher respectfully, I have the right to ask for every test, and the right to ask for more curriculum! When all these things are being ignored, and punishable by, problems form because that’s my right. My last class we had a disagreement. I know In a class setting it’s healthy to ask questions and not debate but rather explain your way of understanding. The question asked something about how hand hygiene works in a healthcare environment? I put that “hand hygiene “prevents” or “minimizes” incidence of healthcare associated infections”. She wanted the other word the book stated: “reduces”. My point to her was one, the book stated “...reduces the incidence of healthcare associated infections” which I saw after the test was over but I remember also that “hand hygiene practice will promote patient safely” and “prevents infections” (EKG Textbook Theory and Practice Fundamentals). I gave her two answers because it’s what I could remember and understand from the book. Two, the information was consumed in the same way. It was formed into an understanding which I took as common sense. This is why I thought it was petty of her and ignorant because of something so small as I was not learning anything from it other than I was wrong. She could have came at me and been real cool... hey your basically correct but the book says this just remember that for next time... what I got was silence and “calm down it’s not what the book said”... like I don’t know why but I let her know that it was just ridiculous and I will be speaking to someone. Because what it is, is your tired of being corrected and It is ironic because Mr. ******, the director I believe he calls himself, from ****** ****** **** (BFL)called me a week later today right on my way to class. Thank God I was only up the street. He called me threatening with the ultimatum to either apologize or be terminated... a whole week. He told me that they don’t have to provide paper for their students or tests and that I am not allowed to “challenge” or “ask” for my paper. He said I was being insubordinate and that I used “ignorant” and “petty”as profanity? And telling her I have corrected her more times than I have been their is not wrong but I said what I said. He also tried to say that I was rushing her to leave class after I just told her my son is with somebody I don’t know as he was with my sister and she with other people. I was not rushing but I did ask her how much of the book we were going to go through? I don’t know about rushing and I don’t like the lies. Lastly, I don’t appreciate how he wanted it in writing or that the situation would result into termination. I believe he even threatened me termination from BLF as well. He tried to intimidate me by trying to get me to self terminate myself. Because he didn’t like being “cut” off as I was attempting to speak up for myself but couldn’t because I was being disrespectfully cut off. He called it being “insubordinate” then backed me into a corner with the ultimatum to apologizing and putting it in writing. Fundamentally, he tried to tell me I have no right as a student not only to learn but to even ask for another person to look over my work or maybe even a different teacher that’s more professional. This was all per requested from myself when I was in class last week during that altercation but he made it known that as a director, it’s not his job to listen to the student or to create an environment suitable for the student but rather his buddy Ms. *******. They put me into a bind because I have a schedule and I would like to continue my education because I am loving the material. It’s a passion and a peak to my will of determination! I feel disrespected, angry, and they keep trying to child me. I do nothing but go to class and I come prepared and on time. I realize resources are gone and I have asked for reimbursements for scrubs through the program which were required of me and required of them to provide if needed, but they can’t not even with gas money for transportation assistance. All these things I have taken into consideration and it doesn’t stop me because I have worked so hard but at the end of that halfway line, I expect these people to educate and meet me the other half because I’m working to achieve something here for my son and his future and mine. I can’t do that if they want to be corrupted.
