I contacted Royal Logistics of ********* thru Purple Heart Movers to move my belongings from ****************, ** to *********, **, in 2019. They were to arrive July 10, load my goods, and transfer them to *********. They understood that I was closing on my home July 12 and needed to be out by then. They called late July 10 to tell me they were unable to get there as the truck had "timed out" and couldn't move anymore. As my husband used to work for trucking companies, I know that the truck does not "time out " - the driver does. As there was at least one other driver, I knew that was a load of "----". Anyway, I accepted it and agreed to wait until Thursday. On Thursday, I got more calls saying they were even further away than they had been on Wednesday. They also said they would be unable to get a rental truck because it would be so late. I understood that they would need a smaller truck due to accessibility issues. Ok. I am beginning to have many doubts about this crowd. Friday, we receive more excuses, but are still open. We rented a ****** to eliminate that excuse. They finally showed up at 11:30pm. Needing to get out of the house, I am trying to be open. The majority of my possessions were packed and ready to go, with the exception of a few things needing special protection. They (5 people) walked into the living room and announced "Oh no. This is too much. It's more like ******", and walked outside. When they returned, the spokesman hands me his phone to speak to his dispatcher. She proceeds to tell me the $4000.00 **** I was quoted is not enough and that the charge would be $******.00.Guess what? I lost it and threw them out (at midnight, no less). He started telling me how much I needed him and that they had driven all the way out there for me. Come to find out, they had made at least 2 more stops before me and would need to get another van to move my goods as they didn't have very much room left in the one they brought. After throwing them out, my daughter and I proceeded to locate a storage facility, transfer my goods there with the help of family, friends and the new owners. We finally got on the road Monday. We also called the police to ask that they check on us overnight since we felt uneasy. Fortunately, I hadn't given them any money. I took the money orders they were supposed to receive, cashed them in, so they didn't get any money from me. ****** ***** ****** got over $2,000.00 from me and see no reason to return it. After finding a home, I contacted ***** *** *****, who moved my stuff for just over $4000.00. They treated my things gently and set them up. They were professional and thorough. I would use them again in a heartbeat. I had expected a slight upcharge from Royal Logistics, but $14,000.00 was far above reasonable. If anyone refers you to these people, I recommend you run, don't walk, in the opposite direction.
