Contractor replaced the siding on the back of my house. It was replaced due to an unknown long time leak around a basement window that was much worse than they originally thought. The only way the leak was caught was it had leaked inside the window. They said the original builder did not seal the window correctly and also did not install siding correctly. It had been stapled. Crask ended up having to replace part of the wall and reframe the window. It was a mess when they opened it up. The siding was 16 years old, so I said to just replace the whole back of the house so it all matched. Its a walkout 1 1/2 story so a lot of siding to replace out of pocket. Since the job has been completed, they have been out and put the same pieces of siding back up that keep coming loose and falling down. The same pieces fell down again today and when I spoke to the contractor he said that this was not on him. He said there must be damaged boards behind the siding they installed and that is why the siding is falling. When I asked why they installed siding on damaged boards when he told me up front if they found any more water damage anyplace, they would have to fix it, he said that the water damage could be interior and not be able to be seen from outside. The previous damage was very obvious from the outside . Although he also said his guys felt around for soft spots and did not feel any and they did not see any issues with the other windows. They taped between all of the gaps in the foam board the builder left I also asked why it was just the same two pieces that keep falling and why they stayed in place before they were replaced if the boards are bad. The pieces in question fit up under the trim of the window and the first piece under the roof. I never had a issue issue until it was replaced. I was told I was being hostile toward him, to have a good day, and he hung up the phone. Adam was paid in full $15,000 cash the day the job was finished.

***** we have already responded to your complaint via our Facebook page. On the Facebook page you even indicated that we were correct. We are sorry your home continues to have unseen water damage from your home builder neglecting to put homewrap (waterproofing) on the outside of your sub-paneling. We told you about the possibility of the problem area extending across your entire back of your home. We also let you know if the siding continued to fall, we would have to replace the rest of the sub-paneling (not just the area we were hired to fix- for an ongoing “leaking basement window”) We actually extended out quit far from the problem area, replacing all noticeable water damaged sub-paneling. You were completely onboard with this. We did not want to charge you more for something that may not need to be replaced. You were happy about that. We were going to fully stand behind you and replace the rest of the sub-paneling if it turned out that it would need replacing as well. Obviously we would not do this for free. You can either hire us to replace the remaining sub-paneling that we spoke about, or hire another company to replace it- but we actually highly suggest you consult with your home builder. Everything we were hired to do, was done. We went over and beyond with caution. Please also note that in your e-mail, you stated the water leak has been going on for quite some time. You tried to fix it yourself by caulking the window. Your only area of complaint was the basement window, we not only fixed the sub-paneling in the problem area but also extended out as far as we could see the damage. The only reason we had to replace the siding on the entire back of the home, is because your siding was crumbling into pieces and warped. We brought you out to see this. We also told you that if you continued to have the problem of your siding not holding, the sub-paneling on the rest of the back of your home would need to be replaced, due to there possibly being unseen damage from your home builder failing to install homewrap. You agreed to all of this. You and my company agreed to try to repair this issue on a smaller scale first, so we would not be over charging you for extra work that doesn’t need to be done. We can only control OUR job being done correctly, we can not control the damage that has been done to your home due to your home builder not doing their job correctly. Our company has been completed caught off-guard by this review.
