For four years, I was a SurveyMini panelist. I had accumulated points which allowed me to choose a gift card, of my choice. On February 7, 2024, I received an email stating: "Today, we are saying goodbye to the SurveyMini app. Surveys will no longer be sent to the app, and any remaining points are now expired". I immediately contact the company through their "helpline" and expressed my discontent to the short notice and the denial of using the points I had accumulated. On February 20, 2024, I received an email from ** *********** ******* ******** "You have received an eGift from SurveyMini by SMG. Follow the instructions below to redeem this on your mobile or desktop" and You received this email from SMG, **** ************ ******* ******* ****** ******* *****. I followed the instructions and received a list stores to choose from for the eGift card. I made my choice and received two $50 eGift cards to the same store. However, the store when "out of business" and the eGifts were not valid. I contacted BH (Blackhawk) Network who stated they do not support the eGift cards and I should contact the "store" where I purchased the card. I called BH Network and was advised to contact SMG. I again contacted SMG and got the same response as earlier indicated. This has been three (3) months of back and forward communication and nothing resolved.

This company is the parent company of SurveyMini and OpinionHQ. I had a long standing relationship with the Survey Mini app and frequently volunteered to participate in surveys in exchange for points. I would typically save these points up until they were able to be redeemed for gift cards at the $50 value level. Recently I was informed that despite having well over the $25 threshold worth of point and building toward my next $50 goal that they were suddenly replacing SurveyMini with a new app called Opinion HQ and had decided they will no longer honor any points from the previous system immediately voiding out all points and not providing any payout options. This is an unfair and unethical practice to change the terms and refuse payout after I have already volunteer a significant amount of my time to earn these points. I feel they should provide a fair compensation for the points they decided to expire without notice.

Once brought to their attention they did claim a $50 gift card would be offered however despite following the instructions and using the links provided etc. the links do not provide any confirmation and can not be saved either. It's not clear if these links work or if the gift card was ever going to be provided.
