      Americo Life Inc, broke our agreement, never heard from them and then I found out they where taking money out of my checking account. Granted I'm glad I found out how horrible this company was before anything tragic happened and before they stole to much money from me.
      Highly recommend hanging up on this company they will not honor the contract or their word over the phone. You will not even hear a word from them unless you realize you see money coming out of your account and you stop payment on it and then they reach out to you wondering why.
      This company doesn't give you any prof of Insurance so that if something happens to you no one can collect then they get to keep the money!

      If I could give 0 stars I would!! A bunch of damn thieves!! 4 years of making payments. Almost $6000.00. Called to cancel my policy and they said I would not be getting a single dime back. They take your money and give you nothing back for it. SCAMMERS!!! I want my money returned immediately!!!

      We have been trying to get my deceased mom’s policy paid since she passed on July 30, 2024 and have yet to have it resolved. It’s like they are trying to find a mistake in paperwork or something so they don’t have to pay out. Since having to go through this I’ve learned that they will never earn my business.

      Hi, I was recently interested in buying new insurance with a great return. I told the agent I wasn't totally sure if I wanted to get the policy because I had some other pressing issues that needed to be addressed. However bottom line is I called today; to cancel my policy and was told I wouldn't get my money back. I was outraged. I understand we have policies in place, but I said I couldn't afford it. I 'm seeking to get my money returned of $294.00. Thats outrageous. They spelled name wrong on policy, and yes the agent was very pushy with trying to get me signed...I just would like my funds returned.

      Title: Avoid Americo Life at All Costs – Terrible Customer Service and No Accountability
      I strongly urge everyone to avoid Americo Life. It has been over 5 months since I started the process of trying to get my mother’s money back, and it has been nothing but a nightmare. The company’s customer service is appalling—every time I call, it takes 40+ minutes just to reach someone, and once I finally get through, I’m given the runaround with zero resolution.
      Americo Life’s lack of communication, professionalism, and urgency is unacceptable. They are holding onto funds that should have been returned months ago, causing unnecessary stress and frustration. This company cannot be trusted with your money or your time. I want to warn others not to make the mistake of using this company, as they clearly don’t care about their customers.

      I own two Americo MYGA fixed annuities. I need to speak with customer service but I cannot get through to a live person.
      Wednesday, Thursday and today, I was on hold a had to hang up after 15 minutes. The nature of my work does not allow me to take call backs when I’m working.
      I will avoid Americo in the future.

      Insurance agent Shannon W***** contacted me and talked me into getting a policy (awesome persuasion, gross morals). He did NOT sell this policy as a life insurance policy. While on the call, he sent the texts containing confirmation numbers. All he told me to make sure our numbers matched. I DID NOT know I was electronically signing forms with the verbal readout of said numbers. This is a VERY deceptive practice. He also informed me that I would be in an application process for 30 days, at which point I could determine whether or not I wanted to continue with the policy. Come to find out, I was not in an "application process". Two days later, I tried to sign in to the website but could not do so without an account number. I called the customer service number to try to cancel, which is when I discovered I in fact had an ACTIVE policy. I reached out to Mr. W*****, via both voicemail and text message, and advised him that I did not wish to continue on with the policy, and that I wanted to cancel everything. He never once returned my phone call or text message. I was charged my policy installment amount the next day. I had to pay to have a block put on my bank account so that Americo could take no further payments from me. When I was finally able to get through to customer service (I was on hold once for over 30 minutes before giving up), the lady informed me not to worry because no money had been drafted from my account due to enrolling only a few days prior. I informed her that she was wrong, and that I had already been charged. To which she replied "Oh.... I see that now." SHE didn't even think I would have already been charged. However, she was very helpful and even admitted that a lot of people sign up for these life insurance policies under the assumption they're signing up for something entirely different. It's disgusting that you try to scam people out of their hard-earned money while they're under the impression they're protecting their assets.

      I WISH I would have read these reviews before I went looking for health insurance over the exchange. The agents will trick you into thinking you are ONLY receiving health insurance. But they automatically sign you up for life insurance even when you clearly (both verbally and in writing) indicate that you are NOT interested in any other type of insurance. They DO NOT tell you. BEWARE - This is absolutely Fraud as it's misleading, lying and signing you up for policies you have indicated that you DO NOT WANT and YOU DO NOT WANT to pay for. They have you believe you are paying only for health insurance and then you later discover you are paying both for life and health or whatever else you requested to be enrolled in.
      DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE TRYING TO CANCEL YOUR INSURANCE POLICY AND YOU BETTER DO SO WITHIN 30 DAYS.

      This is a company that uses deceptive means to get your money. I called a number trying to reach my insurance company to inform them that I mistakenly received mail that belonged to a different client. Somehow I was redirected to this company. When I explained why I was calling, the agent pretended to be associated with my company and then tried to sell me an insurance policy using fraudulent means by giving me misinformation. It took me a few minutes to figure out what this guy was doing and put a stop to it! Beware!

      Everything about this experience was terrible. Customer service is horrible. I gave them $3800 for their service. To show their gratitude, they took another $7600. I had no choice but to walk away, so they would take more. Don’t deal with them!!!
