My complaint is with United Medicare Advisors. I have the same complaint as many others filing with the BBB and still they persist. I requested information responding to an ad I received 5 days ago. The first phone.call was within the hour. I couldn’t answer because I was driving. They called again within minutes. I received 4 calls before a I returned home and 6 more that day. 11 calls the next day and 8 the next and 6 more before noon today. All are identified as United Medicare Advisors and all from different numbers which I now block. It’s like playing whack-a-mole. Why would I ever do business with these people or take their advice?Business Response

This company calls 3 to 5 times a day. Never leave a voice message. I know who they are I don't need anything from them. They are harassing. They call from a different number each time. I've told one number to stop calling but then they just call from another. I'm not answering each call to tell them to stop. The do not call registry does not work.Business Response

I have had over 300 calls from Medicare and every single time I ask them to take me off the call list and it's an automated system that doesn't respond to that prompt.
I then called United Medicare Advisors at phone number ************ to try and get my phone number taken off their call list and the guy said something like good luck with that and hung up on me.Business Response

They call me all the time. I get calls from call centers and robocalls. I got one where I told it some not nice things and now they're calling me back saying I just turned 65 and requested information. I am not even in their age range. Might be a real business but all sourced through a scam and the people on the line act like they don't knowBusiness Response

I am 37 years old and not eligible for Medicare, which I told them, and they still call. I requested to be removed from the list, but they still call. They also leave voicemails for someone who is not me, which I told them, and they still call. I have never requested they contact me ever.
They repeatedly call me and leave voicemails from different phone numbers. I have blocked 50+ phone numbers they have called from. Something is seriously wrong with this organization.Business Response

Today, April 2, 2024, I received an email from this company, as follows:
Hi *****,
Thanks for choosing United Medicare Advisors (UMA). Your new Medicare Supplement plan has been issued by the carrier. As you await your policy documentation from your carrier, it’s important that you understand next steps when it comes to Medicare Part D (prescription drug) coverage.
To Avoid Overpaying, or a Lapse in Coverage:
You must elect a Part D plan if you need one; it is not included in a Medicare Supplement plan.
Enrolling in Part D coverage automatically cancels your previous Medicare Advantage plan.
If you don’t elect a Part D plan, you must cancel your Medicare Advantage plan to avoid paying additional premiums. Contact your carrier or call Medicare at ************** **************** to cancel. How to Obtain Prescription Drug Coverage: UMA cannot issue Part D plans but our partner, SmartMatch Insurance Agency, LLC (SMIA), can. If you spoke to your UMA agent about prescription drug coverage and requested a phone call from one of our SMIA agents, you will receive a phone call from SMIA to set up your coverage after your Medigap plan has been issued. If you miss this phone call, they will leave a voicemail with details about how to get in touch with them. If you fail to reach an agent when you return the call, leave a message with your name and number and an agent will make another attempt to call you back.
Additionally, you can see Part D plan options on Medicare.gov, or call Medicare directly at ************** **************** to set up prescription drug coverage
Thanks again for choosing UMA to help you make Medicare decisions. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Care team at ***** ********* Sincerely, Customer Success United Medicare Advisors ***** ******** END OF PERTINANT E-MAIL CONTENT
I never spoke with anyone from UMA, this email says I have a new plan, I should cancel my old one, and get a prescription plan. Blatant fraud!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: The letter sent to me is a standard letter they are sending to all elderly people, that deceptively tells them to cancel what they have for coverage, and contact their affiliate company to buy insurance coverage. They are spamming and defrauding the elderly!! They need to stop, period!
