    I went to cancel my Anytime Fitness Membership on July 12, 2024. First problem is they do not allow you to cancel electronically, but in person only. So I called them to cancel my membership on July 8th technically, but since it was only in person, I made it in on July 12th. The manager was not there after I told her I was either coming in that afternoon or Sat. am. I was there to sign at 3:30PM. Note on door no one there. I live over 40 minutes away, so I was not able to make it in again until Monday July 22nd b/c they won't let you cancel electronically. I'm realizing they do this to get more money from your 30 day cancelation notice policy. There was another note on the door on July 22nd the manager was out. I finally got a hold of the district manager and they 'allowed' me to cancel through email. I got the cancellation form and they are trying to charge me for 8/1 and 8/15 which is not happening. I should have been able to cancel on the 8th when I called. They put the cancellation dates for 8/24. And are going to charge me to cancel when I've already completed out my 12 month contract. I have contacted my lawyer b/c my cancellation date should be no later than July 12th. Do not and I mean do NOT go to this gym. They will not work with you and will over charge you for trying to cancel after you met your contract terms.

    We do not typically allow someone to cancel digitally unless they are moved out of the area, which is company policy. Reason being so we can communicate appropriately especially if there is a matter of education or otherwise. In this case we went ahead and made an exception at the time, so I contacted ******* and emailed her the cancelation agreement to make it easier on her (this was dated 07/24/24) and 30 days out would make it 8/24. During that time you have access to the gym and those payments are membership dues as apposed to cancelation fees. This was all outlined in the agreement that we sent. She sent it back and everything was on that paper outlining that she would be responsible for those 2 final payments.
