I purchased a vehicle here in May 2024. Over the past year I have had to perform all the work on the vehicle despite having purchased a warranty. I was given the wrong title for the vehicle and they refuse to rectify it.

The vehicle was sold with a passed safety and emission at the time of the sale.  We have done everything we can to try to help, and we offered to do the warranty work, which we don't normally do as it is not our area of expertise.   As for the title, we provided the title that was provided to us from the Auction and *** ****, not knowing that the state had a newer title issued.   We have never refused to rectify the situation as we very much are working diligently to try to obtain the correct title from *** ****.

Purchased a car on August 6th 2024 for ***** dollars(including paperwork fees etc.) Was told by two car guys that if I had any problems in the first week or two, to bring it back and let them know. With in the first week I brought the car back because of overheating and wheel shaking. They took the car to their mechanic and said they put in thermostat and radiator flush. I returned home with car and it immediately started overheating. I haven't even gotten the car title back from Jeff city and the car is non drivable and I am looking at possible blown head gasket or major repair. I feel this is unacceptable and beings I paid over 4000 for the vehicle they should be responsible for some if not all. I haven't had the car a month and haven't driven 300 miles. It's not like I paid 500 dollars. I paid 4000 plus dollars and immediately have had multiple problems. I feel they knew this and still sold me the car and I don't feel they even took it to a mechanic when they told.me that they did and made the repairs. I would like some help with this matter and expect something to be done. Thank You

To begin, this customer was in and test drove this car two separate times and loved the vehicle, resulting in the purchase. This vehicle was purchased "As Is" and the customer signed an "As Is" Buyers Guide with his paperwork (Attached).   We were unaware of any issues with the vehicle, as it passed both safety and emissions at a local inspection station (inspections attached).

When the customer called having issues we helped them immediately.  We did not take the vehicle to any mechanic, we have our own experienced mechanic on staff. He replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator.  After taking it on many test drives and having no issues after the repair we called the customer to have him pick the car back up.  We have not heard from this customer since returning the vehicle after said repair.  We are happy to participate in a repair if the customer would like to bring the vehicle in for us to look at again.

    Thank you,

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because: I was told to bring the car back up there and they would send it to get looked at by a mechanic. They never stated they had an on-site mechanic. I dropped the car at 430pm which is right before.close and received a.call the.next day stating that they changed thermostat and did radiator flush. I feel that this was a pretty fast turnaround if work was preformed. I also was never told if that was the problem to start with. Then was told that that was the last thing they would do for me regarding the car. I dropped the car off yesterday at my own mechanic and had a diagnostic ran and found that the car had major air pockets in the lines and.was 3 gallons low on coolant. If a radiator flush was preformed then how was it that low and there should have been a pressure check from the machine that wouldn't have allowed that much air to be in the lines. That is coming from the mechanic that I sent it to get looked at. I also had 1 wheels out of balance that I had fixed so as of yesterday I have put another 400 plus dollars into the car and it still is overheating so they are looking to figure something else out. Again as a customer I don't care that I signed an as is. I haven't had the car for a month and it's been in the shop twice and still cannot drive the car. 4000 dollars not 500 dollars. I expected to have a car that lasts. I would like to know how this car even passed safety and emissions with the overheating and wheel wobble it has. I just don't believe in doing business this way. I would like the owner to put himself in my shoes.

    Sincerely,

We are very surprised by a rejection of our response considering we did exactly what the customer asked of us, which was "expect something to be done".  We had the customer bring the vehicle back in on 9/10/24 after speaking to him on the phone explaining that we were unaware of the vehicle having another issue after our initial repair.  We cannot fix something if we are not aware of it needing fixed.  We are currently working on this vehicle, trying to make it right for the customer when we are not obligated to do so and we are STILL getting complaints trying to run our good name down.  The issues this vehicle is having has absolutely nothing to do with a safety or an emissions test which is why it passed those inspections at a local repair shop (not our store), we had nothing to do with either inspection as they were completed by an outside source, both inspections passed and we had no reason to believe there were any issues with the vehicle based off of that.  Again, the customer test drove this vehicle TWICE and then purchased the vehicle with absolutely no mention of any issues including any tire issues... Until he took it to a tire shop.

I was just contacted by two car guys and they said they fixed the problem and I could come pick the vehicle up. I plan on picking the car up after work on Friday September 20th. I am hoping this problem has been resolved but won't know for sure until I have picked the car up and driven it. Thanks

I purchased a 2005 Chevy Colorado pickup truck on 04/26/2023. I drove it home. Friday I took it to get a inspection the truck failed safety and emission test. I returned back to the car lot and informed him of everything that was wrong with the truck. I tried to return the vehicle , He stated that he would not fix the repairs needed for the truck to pass the inspections. They cleared the codes on the truck before I purchased the truck. Some of the issues with the truck are, failed for left front tire rod, right front sway bar link, right rear outer edge of tire, and the emission it failed for code *****, serpentine belt has excessive cracking, rear brake badly rusted at line connection, rear transmission mount is worn, and transmission pan is leaking. Everything that I listed was confirmed by the Missouri State Highway patrol off of Koch Rd. I would like refund in the amount of $1000.00 and I would like to return the truck back to them.

We have been doing business with the BBB for 18 years and we have never and would never tell a customer that we would not fix the problems they have with their vehicle.  In fact, this consumer was told multiple times that we would fix the issues he brought to our attention, and he has not brought the truck in for us to fix.  If the consumer brings the truck in we have no problem fixing it for him.

my husband bought a truck from them they told him nothing was wrong with the truck just to find out the whole front end of the truck needed replaces and the warranty they sold him wouldn't cover any of it because the truck was modified before my husband bought it and they told him that it would cover everything

This vehicle was purchased two months ago.  The customer called with concerns after his purchase, so we had him bring it back and fixed the issues discussed.  We have not heard from the customer since fixing the issues he brought to our attention.  He only purchased a powertrain warranty with the vehicle, and it was never indicated to him that it would cover everything. If he is requesting a refund for the warranty, we can gladly submit the paperwork needed to do so.

Bought a car off them for over 18k. Never told us anything was wrong with it or that it hasn’t even had its emission or oil changes which I’m pretty sure is illegal in Mo. they’re supposed to have emissions unless they give you some sort of notice. That night we noticed the gauges didn’t work after trying to add fuel and the check engine light came on. This place tryed to blame us for a blown engine by saying we ran up the mileage when there’s a whole paper trail to them proving all of the events that occurred one after the other right before it actually blew out. Including a photo on day 2 that proves their loan papers gave the incorrect mileage count. These people don’t deserve to survive in this world if they’re trying to screw others like this! Then our loan people got them to take care of the problem and pick it up and fix it and they may have made it worse instead. The guy who does my oil changed said there’s now antifreeze in my oil because it was somehow at 15quarts instead of the 7 he put in beginning of July.

There was nothing wrong with the vehicle when they purchased it.  All paperwork was gone over in detail with them including the mileage and all paperwork/contract was signed by both buyer and co-buyer.  They refused the extended warranty which only gave them a 30 day 50/50 powertrain parts & labor warranty from the dealer.  When they called & emailed about the issues they had, we asked them repeatedly to bring the vehicle in for us to look at and they again refused to do so and continued to try to "fix" it themselves making things worse than they were from the time of the original complaint.  We finally agreed to pay for and tow the vehicle back to us.  When we received the vehicle it was completely trashed inside and out, which we have photo documentation of, and it had too much oil in it before we even touched it. Since their last complaint we have offered to extend the 30 day 50/50 warranty to help pay for the motor repairs if we received their portion up front. We have had no communication of accepting this offer, only more threatening emails blaming us for all the damage done to the vehicle. Now, that they continue to threaten us and try to tarnish our good name through all avenues possible, we are no longer offering the warranty.  We are very sorry that it has come to this b/c we always try our best to help everyone in any situation if possible.
