DONT USE THIS COMPANY! Rates creep up with no warnings. I started paying ***** a month, and it slowly creeped up to $149 a month in small increments. As soon as I cancel my account, they slap a $395 fee as a parting gift. There are so many better options out there. Dont waste your time with these scam artistsInitial Complaint

I was using clearent for credit card transaction fees and after sending my bank statement to other companies and having my bank look at the charges, they came to the conclusion that I was getting massively overcharged. My charges started at around $70 a month, now we are getting charged $165 a month with hidden fees tacked on. Feels like I've been robbed of hundreds of dollars if not thousands. No easy way to contact this company, just an absolute joke, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, as well as if a class action lawsuit is filed we WILL be joining in. Clearent LLC took money they are not entitled to. Clearent made the untrue statement that a third party took and is holding the funds, but further investigation revealed that Clearent llc does in fact have the funds that they have no claim to. Clearent has been very difficult to communicate with. I have a single phone number for them and they have not answered or returned a phone call. Communication through a third party has been extremely limited and has stalled. Clearent claims they took the money, at the direction of a third party, to the best of my knowledge this is untrue. Clearent needs to hand over my funds. This company removed funds from a client without any communication or notice, then lied, claiming a third party took the funds, funds that Clearent themselves has. Clearent followed up the false claim by virtually cutting communications. This company has my funds, they are hiding and the whole situation seems wrong.Initial Complaint

When we signed up with ****************, we were told that all the fees would be paid by the customers. Starting in January 2025, our deposits every night were anywhere from $2.00 to $5.00 short. I have tried to fix the issue by calling the salesman, the card processor, and even our personal bank. I started this process in February when I realized it was a continous problem and I was told by several people it would get fixed and nothing changed. Then it progressed to no one would return my phone calls, text messages, or emails. I then changed companies and asked for the refund of $196.19. I tried for over a month to get the money that we were shorted. I still could not get a response even though I talked to a supervisor and they said the would find out what was going on. Next thing I knew I had an early cancellation fee of $395.00. I was never told that they would charge me and I don't know how they can since I signed up with them in 2002 or 2003. I have never had to sign anything else and I believed it was a month to month contract.Initial Complaint

Fraudulently charged $1000 because a supposed secret shopper found non-compliance. We were set up by this companies ***resentative who is actually a regional supervisor over multiple states. We previously used Clearent's services in 2023; however, we noticed that charges continued from December 2023 through September 2024, despite our account no longer being active. Upon contacting Clearent, we were informed that a refund of $329.45 was issued in November 2024. Unfortunately, we have not received this amount. This is not a ***utable company. We cancelled our account back in August 2022 and found out we have unknowingly been charged a monthly fee for over 2 years without even using their services. Our **** who is no longer with the company, said he remembered us cancelled in 2022 and he said that should have closed both of our merchant accounts. Apparently, it only closed one of them. My 3 calls to Clearent support have been useless and odd. The ***s **** spoken to tell me that our old sales *** is getting residuals and I need to call him even though he doesn't work there anymore. He moved on to a better company and said this is common practice for Clearent. I have tried at least 6 times to cancel. I sent the *** form they request, they say they don't receive it. They ask me to send again, and this goes on an on. I have sent them a final request for cancelation today and a credit request for the nearly $3K dollars we have unnecessarily spent. I see from the other BBB reviews, this is a common practice of theirs. Please, if you are considering Clearent, find another company like ********** to assist you. They are excellent. We attempted to use a Clearent terminal but the terminal, after numerous attempts, would not work correctly. We contacted support and our *** numerous times. We tried to integrate the terminal into our business but we kept getting defective terminals. We ended up having to return all the defective terminals and filled out the closure form. However, we were charged over $1,000 for services never rendered.Business Response

When i signedup for the services they failed to disclosed exbuerant fees. First they charged me $78.18 on Jan, 8, 2025. I called Customer Support to complaint and i was sent a form to cancel and was assured once i filled it out and sent it back i will get my refund. I filled it out and emailed and on Jan 16, 2025 and got an email confirmation account was closed. Today I saw another charge from them in the amount of $111.35. ******************.
