    We rented a storage unit from ***** ******* the owner of the facility, in August, we used the unit for about a month and cleaned out our belongings and reported to the owner that we had cleaned out the unit. We tried several times to receive our deposit back from him and he continued to say that he sent our deposit back via mail but we never received a check back for our deposit. I've contacted him several more times and he said that he left it in the drop box at his facility, that's not true. I have texts and calls over this whole ordeal. over 45 dollars he is a liar and a thief

    This letter is in response to your BBB complaint correspondence.  As per my SOP, at the beginning of each month an audit is done on all units.  At that time all vacant units are noted as empty or occupied.  At that time unit#*** was listed as empty.  Also per SOP all my deposit returns and late notices and deposit returns and late notices and deposit returns are done after this inventory is completed.  I was scheduled for vacation in September so I was rushed to get all my paperwork completed before I left.  Unfortunately the deposits did not get sent out before I left.

    When you called me the second week of September, I confessed to you that I did not get the deposits out before I left and would take care of it Monday, Sept. 16th when I returned.  I did this, mailing the $45 deposit to 611 S.W. End Blvd #B310 which was the address I had on file that you gave me.  You then called Wednesday the 18th stating you hadn't received the deposit yet which was only in the mail two days at that time.  Cape usually takes a minimum of 5 days to receive any in town mail.  You then called Wednesday the 18th stating you hadn't received the deposit yet which was only in the mail two days at that time.  Cape usually takes a minimum of 5 days to receive any in town mail.  You then requested I cancel the check and pay you cash which I refused to do stating that I was not going to pay a $30 cancellation fee for a $45 check.  I stated you would have to wait for the mail.  I left again on the 19th for time with my family.  Sometime around the 25th I got a message from you stating you still hadn't received your deposit and accusing me of lying, stating I never mailed it out.  There was also the threat of turning me in to the BBB.

    I returned from my time with my family on the 29th finding that the deposit had been returned to me for incorrect address of which you had given me.  I relayed this information to you.  I stated I left the check and envelope (showing that is was mailed when I claimed and that it was returned for incorrect address) at the office to be picked up of which you did.  So you have your deposit back.
