      I had a visit in May 2021 due to a high resting heart rate which concerned me. The fee for the day, which I was assured was all I had to pay, was $50 - I paid it up front and had my visit. They did blood work and I saw Dr. ********* for a grand total of 10 minutes. On November 16, they sent me the first of several billing statements for over a hundred dollars. I was notified at the same time that it was over 90 days late, meaning they were going to submit it to collections. I called and notified the person working on my file that I wasn't made aware of any of this, and that I'd like it noted on my file. They informed me that they were "in the process of transferring systems" and that they'd need to submit it to a review committee. I also paid half the total fee, just over $120 at the time. On November 28, I got a second billing statement, this time for an additional $250 - this was a "physician's fee." I called back, was told this was a different statement and required additional review. Again, I paid half with the promise that they'd apply a discount to both accounts for the trouble. On Christmas Day, I received statements totaling the other half of each bill - they were still in review. I refuted over an hour-long phone call. They got my email information and said they'd contact me as soon as review was complete; they never did. Instead, I got ANOTHER billing statement in later January saying the process had been completed (and rejected) in early January, but that they also acknowledged I'd been told specifically what I owed at one time, and that I'd paid that exact amount out of pocket. I paid an additional $35 for them to apply a discount to my accounts, which they assured me would be all I needed. February 17, they issued me ANOTHER billing statement for $83. I called this morning and was told they'd have to send it to higher-ups... again. TL;DR, a $50 out-of-pocket walk-in totaled me just over $450 so far. Next time, I'll take the high heartrate.
