I contracted him to do drywall for the ceiling, trim for the ceiling, an external pool house and finish out a column over the kitchen that has an electric panel. He completed a portion of the work, hired the drywall workers that didn&#**;t start until October 4th, contract was drawn up on Sept. 20. They (Central Mo Drywall) finished up their part on Oct. 11th. Handy Asguardian required half of the money up front, I gave them $3,100. I paid the last day of work to them $3,100 and they told me they would call to let me know when they would be back. The sheet rock workers did an amazing job. I would like to receive a call back from them, finish the job and if they can&#**;t do it to take a quarter of what I paid him off the bill and refund to me - $1,550.

Complainant is partially right with her concerns, but with some missed details which caused the company to reconsider completion of the job.  Complainant requested drywall / finishing for the roof in one room to be completed with trim /  firing strip to be placed in the second roof  both roofs were very large.  On the day the drywaller showed she said OBTW this room ceiling needs to be drywalled also. #1: this was not in the bid.  #2 on completion of the ceiling they said we needed to paint it, and seemed insistent we do it.  #2 We did not bid this.  I insisted that we would not do it because I did not bid it, to which they said "Oh well just add it to the bill.  I was adamant we would not do it and they agreed to higher someone else.  #3  When picking out the trim, they wanted crown molding, to which I also rebuked, they lived in a double wide trailer with all trim being of a nature no way close to the most expensive trim to purchase. By now I was starting to feel like they were trying to ***** the company  for anything they thought they could get.  #4 and the final straw was the day before I was about to start the firing strips on their back room, which was approximately 40x30 I was informed that I need to stain every firing strip prior to placement, which was not in the bid and meant staining over 600' of firing strips.  I informed them, due to the drywall taking a great amount of extra time I needed to figure out how I could schedule this.  On leaving and giving it a couple days of thought, I sent a message to the complainant that I would not be finishing the job and due to this being a decision on the company's part I would absorb the loss of revenue. You see her thoughts that a ceiling can be drywalled, finished and all supplies bought for it for 1500 is beyond ignorant.  If the original room was the only thing I bid it would of been in excess of 4k by itself.  I'm sorry that she did not get what she requested completely.  In the future I would hope she's much clearer in requests and not feel like she can take advantage of a contractor.  Due to this experience and problems maintaining staff, the business is in the processes of closing.
