My refrigerators defrost circuit board blew during a power surge. Bought the unit from Lowes, called Lowes to provide a service company. Lowes provided J and V Contracting. Called J and V to come service my LG refrigerator. The office girls got a service guy to come out and charge me $79.00 only to say they can't get LG parts. Then I was told the girls are new. Also that Lowes refers them to lots of LG customers, all who take off of work and all who pay this $79.00 fee. Scam??Business response

All customers are told about the non-refundable service charge for businesses over 60 miles away. $79 service charge is charged to every initial service call for time and/or diagnostics. We could not get the part she needed because the part she needed has been discontinued.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
If they worked on LG refrigerators, that response would be ok. ******* told me they do not work on LG refrigerators. I stated in the original phone call I had an LG refrigerator. His response was also that the girls that answered were new. This is the first I'm hearing this part is discontinued.

That is not true at all, we do service LG. We do have a harder time finding parts for their products especially the older they are the harder they are to find. My company is in no way a scam. Your residence is 92 miles from our office so I can assure you that we made nothing off of this visit. I apologize for any miscommunication.

I would agree on miscommunication. I would also train ******* on his response to questions. Our conversation was different in person, enough for me to be concerned and also let Lowes (place of purchase on a 2 year old $2500 refrigerator) know of my interaction with him. I would recommend anyone dealing with this person to record any conversations as proof. Better Business Bureau:
