We took a vehicle here a Ford Escape because of a service engine light issue. They looked at the car and noticed 2 blown fuses and replaced them. Immediately after my son left the parking lot the light came back on. I immediately called and they told to bring it back tomorrow for no charge. So I did and they replaced the fuses again. However the service engine light came back on. At this point they told us "we don't have time to deal with it you need to take it to the dealership." We took it to a dealership and had it repaired. I called to speak to the district manager **** ***** and I explained to him the situation and he said that the shop should not have told us they didnt have time to fix the car. I explained to him that we shouldnt have to pay for the service we received since we ended up taking it to a dealership. He agreed and told me he would call the next day. I have not heard from him at all.Business response

On 1/12/2023, my vehicle was taken to this Meineke to fix 2 problems. 1) A very loud noise when the heater was turned on. 2) A noise that occurred upon acceleration. The second problem was never able to be resolved, nor attempted, which is fine. This complaint solely pertains to the first problem. When my husband picked up the vehicle on the same day, he was told we would need to take the vehicle to the dealership to get the **** for the fan to work as it should. When I got the vehicle, it was extremely loud. I went to Meineke to discuss the issue because I couldnt make sense of the situation, which is when they explained it to me. On 1/15/2023, I left a yelp review in hopes someone would outreach me & assist with a resolution. Nothing came of it. On 3/6/2023, my husband took a day off work to take my vehicle to the dealership to fix the problem. They removed the after market fan (that was installed by Meineke) because the *** controller would not connect to any aftermarket fan. They were able to install a new set of cooling fans & a new fan controller & make the entire system function as it should. On 3/31/2023, I emailed Meineke with no response. I have since called the only phone number I could find (that could belong to corporate), seeking assistance. I left 2 voicemails without responses. I have the fan & will be happy to return it for my money back. Meineke should have never installed the fan motor knowing they did not have the full product that is needed to make it function the way it should. They could not hear the noise for the second problem; therefore, they could not fix it. This type of service is acceptable. If they couldnt fully, completely & thoroughly fix the first problem, they should not have stated they could & they should not have done anything, except tell me as much, then I would have saved my money so I could get it fixed right the first time someplace else.Business response

I went in to get my emissions test done and a few others things. When i received my car back i noticed my windshield tint was ripped badly where the emissions sticker goes. It was done when taking the old one off. I showed the employees and the mechanic said go and get it re-tinted, bring us the receipt and we will get it taken care of. So i did that and 2 weeks to the day i brought it back with the receipt of it being done for $150 and then i was told they will give it to the district manager and he will contact me in 1-2 weeks i said ok thanks. After 2 weeks go by i call to see if theres any info and all i got was i have the info to the district manager. So then i gave it another 2 weeks and still nothing. So i called the store back and then they told me they will not cover it cause its illegal to have your windshield tinted which is completely irrelevant in the matter and doesnt make it correct that you can just damage something and get away with it and that it was previously damaged. I will attach pictures of previous and after. One of the worst experiences i have been a part of with a business and disappointing since every time Ive been here its always been very honest and easy to work with so Im not sure what has changed. Ive been in a few times to get stuff replaced and was told that it didnt need to be done and couldve easily taken my money. Thats why i go back. But now after this experience its ridiculous. I even shopped around to get the cheapest price to get my window redone cause i thought that was the right thing to do. All Im wanting is my $150 back that i was told i would be reimbursed for
