On March 22, 2024 the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(1)(2)(5)(8)(9); 326B.35; 326B.36 (2022) and Minn. Rule 3801.3780 (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to revocation of the electrical contractor license for Alpine Electric of Anoka and to cease and desist from performing or offering to perform electrical work in Minnesota. The business also agreed that James Diehl is prohibited from performing electrical work in Minnesota for one year, unless he is a W-2 employee of a licensed Minnesota electrical contractor and he is prohibited from being an owner, officer or partner of a Minnesota licensed electrical contractor for one year from the date of this Order. The business will also pay $1,000.00 of a $4,000.00 penalty from a 2013 Consent Order, with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
