Bjorn ******* of Bjorn Timeless photos recently had a contest where you had to write what would you do if you won a session valued at $2000. The contest was lite on rules and the sample images showed several portraits large in size. I submitted my entry saying I had a single mom friend of two whose birthday was coming up and how special it would be to have her and her two kids get this as a gift. A couple weeks passed and I was informed I had won. The prize was valued at $2000 but it was vague on what the prize was or covered. In the email announcing my win I was informed me I need to first pay $200 to secure my appointment. ********* Statutes 325F.755 PRIZE NOTICES AND SOLICITATIONS.Subd. 2.Disclosures required. (a) No sponsor shall require a person in ********* to pay the sponsor money as a condition of awarding the person a prize, or as a condition of allowing the person to receive, use, compete for, or obtain information about a prize, nor shall a sponsor use any solicitation that creates the reasonable impression that a payment is required, unless the person has first received a written prize notice containing the information required in paragraphs (b) and (c).I wrote to Bjorn ******* asking for more details since I was giving this as a gift. I asked for a better breakdown of what the $2000 gets us. ********* Statutes (b) ******* value" of a prize means:a price at which the sponsor can substantiate that a substantial number of the prizes have been sold to the public in ********* in the preceding year;His response was we create art pieces that go through many hands before completion and our turn-around time is often more than three months. Meaning he could not comply with the prize value statures. He went on to say Please note that your prize is not transferableto other families, Despite my answer was to give it to another family. He replied We are pulling our winners independent from the response.
