The company scheduled a service, we called to cancel the service and the contract and they sent someone out and completed the service when we were not home anyways. They are now trying to bill us for the service we did not approve.

      Business Response

EcoShield Pest Solutions operates under a structured service agreement designed to ensure clarity and customer consent. According to our records, when the call was made to cancel the account, the primary account holder, Ms. Kate, was not available to confirm the cancellation. As per our policy, only authorized individuals listed on the account can provide such consent. During the call, a third party intervened, preventing the verification process and ending the call abruptly. Since there was no verified authorization, the service remained active.
As stipulated in our agreement, services are scheduled and billed based on the confirmed arrangement unless the cancellation is confirmed by the authorized account holder. The service completed aligns with this protocol.

If you have any further information or details, we are happy to further review this.

I had a door to door salesman come to my door despite a no solicitation sign on it. He pitched his services while he pointed out a wasps nest. He sold me a quarterly service with a quarterly billing cycle. He also informed me of a discount I will receive that I would be responsible for paying back in the event that I cancelled before the end of the contract. After the initial services there were dead wasps all over the front porch where the nest was. The salesmen told me to give if a few days after the initial spray to let the wasps die. After 10 or so days the wasp situation was worse than before. Still trying to be patient I waited another week or so and called to let them know the issue They told me I already have an appointment on the books. I went into my account and realized that this was doing to be a billable service. That would be 3 bills in 5 months which is not quarterly. At that time I decided to cancel the contract because I was unhappy with the service and was not being billed quarterly as the sales *** said. Now they are invoicing me for the original discount on the initial contract because of early cancelation. This is was not a cancelation due to buyers remorse. This was cancellation due to disappointing services and borderline dishonest sales practices. I do not want a refund for the initial services provided. I only ask that this new invoice be waived.

      Hi ***,

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns. I want to sincerely apologize for any possible miscommunication during the time of sign-up. For situations like these were information can be quickly ran through or mistakenly missed, we send out a welcome to the family text highlighting the three most important details of our contract, which lists the type of contract you are on, the billable cycles, and the cancellation process which states if you decide to term your contract, you are responsible for paying back the discount given to you at the time of service. All of this information was sent in a text which was acknowledged and agreed to when you responded  "Yes" to that message.

Given the situation, I am truly empathetic and want to part ways in good standing. With this being said, I am going to do a one time courtesy waive for your remaining balance on the account as an act in good faith. I hope this helps and you are able to find the treatment that is most helpful for your home.

We had EcoShield out 5/7/24 to spray for bugs and remove any webs and spider eggs outside. They did not remove webs or eggs in multiple places (around front door and below our sun room). We also were seeing more bugs and spiders than we saw before. They came back 3 times for retouches to address these areas and still failed to remove the webs and eggs. We were billed and I told them we still had a ton of area where they were missing. They offered to keep sending someone back and I told them we wanted to cancel. Every time we tried to cancel we kept getting transferred and handed off to different people. I was told I couldnt cancel and it had to be my husband because he was the main person on the account so they spoke with him and he cancelled and then the next time they called they said it didnt get cancelled. They had no problem calling to collect the balance but couldnt seem to call back regarding our service experience. It seems as if there is a company in the *********** who takes their calls and anytime I try to callthe local office Im routed somewhere else. They keep trying to collect on a balance for a service that was not completed.

When the sales person for Eco Pest Solutions came I explained that my house didn't have pest issues, but my garden did. I have a very large vegetable garden and also a large raspberry patch and I constantly struggle keeping pests out of them. The sales *** said nothing about that neither would be sprayed. Instead he assured me Eco solutions all natural product could help. When the *** came to spray , on August 20, he informed me that the vegetable garden wasn't sprayed, therefore was not protected. When I complained to the company, I was told that I might get sick if I eat a vegetable sprayed with there product. So, they don't spray vegetable gardens. I called to cancel the service. My garden was the whole reason for using Eco Shield, because it was labeled as an all natural product. I have checked my paperwork and the website and nothing says that it is not safe for a garden. You would think an all natural product would be ok. In addition, I don't know if my raspberry patch was sprayed, so I am afraid to eat any of the raspberries growing there. I have concerns that if I cannot eat a vegetable sprayed with the product, how will my pets do if they eat the grass after being sprayed with it. Luckily after the first spray there was a huge storm and they were not allowed outside until late the next day. Anyone with pets who eat grass should be cautious about using this product. They charged me $195 for the initial service and then sent me a bill for an additional $324 for canceling. I don't think I should have to pay either charge. The sales person was dishonest about being able to help with pests in my garden and the company seems to be dishonest about how all natural their product is.

      Dear ******,

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify that all our treatments strictly adhere to the labels and instructions of the products used, which are applied by our licensed and trained technicians. I signed up for Ecoshield in August of 2023 after a sales person came to our house and the contract was for 12 months. I was told that there would be no further services after 12 months. However, on September 6th of this year, a service was performed at our house. I did not agree to another year and now I am now being billed $202.94 for service that I never agreed to. I would like the charge to be removed, all future services to be canceled and for my account to finally be closed.

With that being said I will waive that fee for you and close your account down. You can use this as written confirmation that this is completed for you. I will send you an invoice showing it has been cleared as well. If there is anything else I can do for you, please don't hesitate you to let me know!

A representative came to my door selling services. I was told that I would pay around 175 quarterly. They would be back in 30 days free of charge then I'm billed each quarter. I was billed got first service. Came time for 30 days I had to reschedule. I called customer service and doubled checked to be sure I would not be billed was assured this service would not be billed. They come service my home and they try billing me. I called they refuse to help. Now they constantly call for my money for this bill. I don't feel I owe. I moved and canceled service. But they are still harassing me on this bill.

An Ecoshield salesperson came to my door offering a highly discounted rate to spray for bugs and pest. He said the cost included a follow up appointment within a month to make sure everything went smooth. The service was not effective, and after the follow up I noticed I had been charged again. I called and the company said the cost isnt a one time fee and it is a quarterly charge, which the salesperson did not state, nor did he show me when I signed, he simply handed me a device with a signature prompt without showing me the document. Now the company is telling me I have to pay a cancellation fee which is more than the service itself This was extremely unethical as the salesperson did not state or show me any documentation that this was a reoccurring charge. Im not even asking for a refund on the one time payment I expected, even though the spraying didnt work for ants and wasps as promised. I just want to be reimbursed for the free follow up I was charged for and to have no further interaction with this company and I should not have to pay a ridiculous fee to not work with them. Extremely unethical.

This is my second complaint for this business. This company is a scam door-to-door sales operation that preys on people that just moved in. They came to my door shortly after I closed on my home selling pest control services, claiming they service all of the neighborhood properties and my technicians truck is right around the corner. I asked if their products were safe for dogs and was promised they were. After the second treatment my dog became violently ill and I had to call off work to take her to the vet ($800 vet bill). After returning home I contacted the company to request a list of the products used on my property, and they sent a list over with direct links to the labels. ALL of the labels clearly state the chemical products used are HIGHLY TOXIC TO DOMESTIC ANIMALS. I canceled my service but the company is refusing to refund me AND refusing to waive the cancellation fee of over $300. I want a refund for services I paid for that were contracted under FALSE ADVERTISING (not safe for pets as promised, both verbally and in writing) and I want the cancellation fee waived. I also request the refund and cancellation fee waiver for ineffective services, not only did the chemicals make my dog ill, they made the pests worse. Since terminating my service I have had zero issues with pests, and didnt before they started. They only showed up AFTER the treatments were applied. Filing second complaint as the first one was closed without resolution and I have contacted the company many times (in addition to the countless times before filing the first complaint) and have received no response. My attorney will be contacting this company and we will be contacting the city and state government agencies to escalate this issue. I see they have waived the cancellation fee for many others for a variety of reasons, not sure why they cant do this for me.

      Dear *********,

We take product safety very seriously and ensure that all our treatments are applied by licensed and trained technicians who strictly follow the directions provided on product labels. August ******* A *** from the company presented a plan for our yard protection of bees, ants and spiders. He gave us a good rate to join for what he called quarterly service. We paid by credit card for $179. which he said was less for signing up now. We did not receive an email with receipt, which he said we would get immediately. We never received the confirmation. We since, heard from neighbors that the had problems with same and were charged more to cancel the same policy.

After reviewing your account, we found that the initial service charge of $179 was processed, but it appears there was a delay in sending the confirmation email. We strive to ensure all customers receive timely receipts and service confirmations, and we regret that this step did not occur as expected.

Eco Shield is a scam. First of all, they were selling door to door without the required permit from the City. The door to door salesman gave me his pitch for ant control in my yard. He said they were having a sale and could treat my yard for $189. He led me to believe this was the total cost for the treatment. Unknown to me at the time is that I was signing up for a years worth of treatments. He did not make it clear to me that I was signing up for multiple treatments. When the company emailed me their service agreement I read it closely and only then did I realize I had been scammed. I replied back to them right away (the same day) and told them that their sales pitch was very misleading and I clearly did not understand that I was signing up for more than one treatment, and to cancel the service agreement effective immediately. This should not have been a problem because I was well within the 3 business days that consumers are allowed to cancel a contract for any reason including "I changed my mind". I also sent a cancellation notice by postal mail to the address indicated in the service agreement. And I locked my credit card.Continuing their scam tactics, effectively trying to deny me my 3-day right to review the agreement and cancel it, I was told they had scheduled a treatment for later that same day. I had been home the entire day working in the yard and nobody from their company came to my house. I thought that might have been the end of it but then they started trying to charge my credit card for $189. Then the attempted charges went up to over $400 which included an "early cancellation fee".After reading their emailed service agreement, I immediately and very clearly told this company to cancel the contract, I was well within the allowed time I have to do so. They did not treat my yard as I was home all day and no one showed up.I want them to cancel all charges, delete my account and leave me alone. I am not interested in doing business with them.
