On January 5, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat 326B.082, subd. 11(b)(2)(6)(8)(9); 326B.33, subd. 12; 326B.35; 326B.36 (2022); and Minn. Rule 3800.3570 and 3801.3780 (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to ensure they schedule final inspections for outstanding electrical permits; to submit a certificate of compliance - worker's compensation to DLI; to ensure all employees hold an active master or journeyworker electrician license or a registration as an unlicensed individual, and all employee compensation is properly reported to the IRS. The business also agreed to ensure all employees are properly supervised, and ensure all required permits are properly filed and inspections scheduled, and comply with all inspection reports within 14 days. The business further agreed to respond to DLI requests for information, and to do business and advertise only under their licensed name.
The business will also pay $9,000.00 of a $20,000.00 fine, with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
