The company towed my car from an apartment complex which I was house sitting for. I was not informed by those I was house sitting for about the need to be out of the parking lot for plowing. Thus my car got towed. I got to this place and the doors were locked. Eventually made my way to a crowd lined up by this car with a young teenager in the drivers seat. He was in charge, taking peoples money and doing his transactions from inside the car on the phone with his aunt giving him directions. He demanded 325 in cash for a 3 mile tow. He was the only one helping and gave us little help and was almost about to start a fight with my boyfriend and threatened to call the cops. I looked at their online reviews and theyre known for scamming and overcharging on their tows.

Guardian Recovery in ************** is a predatory towing operation that charges extremely inflated rates, well above the areas average, for their services. I was originally quoted 370$ day of tow to recover then $25 per additional day. Upon arriving at the ******** Avenue location a week after the initial tow with the appropriate funds, I was told the daily fee was $75. Not only was I appalled at the sudden rate increase, I did not have the monies to suffice the ridiculous total. Upon requesting my medications, documents, AND my Fathers remains, I was blatantly told to pay the entire balance in cash and only then could I get my belongings back+vehicle, or surrender my title. I returned to the location on ******** several times, each time the cost for me to get my vehicle was beyond unethical and would vary depending on the individual working. The employees would not provide any form of a tow report yet demand ridiculous sums of money and are unwilling to provide any information about the details of why my vehicle was initially towed. Guardian Recovery in its entirety is a shady & untrustworthy operation, The ********************** ************************** attests to this as well, its shocking that they are able to continue doing business.

On Friday, January 5th my car was towed by this company for parking in a permit parking only. They proceeded to hold my car ******. They demanded I give them my title (so they could photo copy it), proof of registration (that was in my car) and proof of insurance. When I refused to give them the title they wouldnt release my car to me. I was forced to pay $325 cash and i threatened to call the police if they forced me to photocopy my title to the vehicle and they immediately changed their mind and gave me the car. They share a building with Eurowerks ************. Something shady is going on with these two businesses. Look at the reviews on ******* They cannot demand my title from me to prove ownership of the car. And they cant hold my car ****** the way that they did. Please do something about this company.
