      In response to a simple question during open enrollment I am existing in a complete nightmare with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. I have an existing **** policy from my employer and was misinformed on an action to take during open enrollment. I made a selection of an Rx plan during open enrollment (based on erroneous information from the **** marketing department) then called to cancel it DURING OPEN ENROLLMENT (there is no other way to make the cancellation - imagine that in 2023). They will provide NO WRITTEN documentation of a request, not even an email. I had to make 5 more requests for the same action because no action was taken. When the policy FINALLY was cancelled weeks later, in the same mail I received a letter re-instating the policy, leaving me back at the beginning. Starting the new year, I ended up with 2 medical plans and an incorrect Rx plan. I spent hours with customer service trying to iron the matter out. This resulted in being asked to write a paper letter to cancel one policy and respond to a paper form for a second. While their customer service agents are friendly, the SYSTEM is absolutely messed up, archaic, and incompetent.

      Blue Cross Blue Shield is a premium of $900 for an individual policy. Sick of Prior Authorizations denied. **** of having to sleuth through each time denied to find out the problem, to learn the denial is ridiculous. They do not have a good company in *******. That is simply a road block to people who really want, need good quality healthcare. I want private insurance and service. Every time I have found that Blue Cross is wrong. They do not communicate with providers. They are left in the dark getting denials and then your have to go through the whole process again. You pay for all the requirements and then they don't approve what is needed. ************** at Blue Cross is rude, insulting. If you can't deliver a provider list that is real, what good are you.

      Their customer service is horseshit! They use ******* to deny your legitimate claim and need for health service, requiring paying customers to jump through endless hoops getting them good and tired and then fail to help someone with legitimate health care needs. It's a bogus company and they DO NOT give a s*** about you. Will never, never work with them again and they should all be ashamed of themselves for intentionally hurting good people who trusted them. Stay away from these shysters!

      They have a terrible track record for paying my claims in a timely manner. Every time I have a claim(which isn't very often, maybe once a year.) They use every tactic imaginable to delay paying. I have a bill for an office visit that I have been trying to get paid for almost a year (11/2/2022). They tell me they will take care of it, only to find out months later when I'm getting past due and collection notices that they still have not paid. I am still employed and my employer pays over $21,000.00 a year in premiums. I am nearing retirement and would really not be able to do deal with these delays if I was old and sick. Please think twice before going on their ******** plans.

      I gave birth to my son in June 2021 on Blue Cross insurance. I used an extended network provider and BCBS mistakenly billed it as in network. I had additional funds set aside in an HRA to pay for the anticipated higher cost, but BCBS assured me that my birth was paid for. Fast forward a WHOLE YEAR and then they are requesting I pay an additional $1800 for my birth. I no longer have access to the funds saved because they are expired. BCBS apologized for the delay in fixing their error but insisted that I owe the $1800 anyway. Now I am still stuck with the additional cost and it is all their fault. They were extremely rude and sarcastic through the whole appeals process. I can genuinely say that I would not take a job if BCBS is the only option for insurance-- that is how far I would go to avoid having BCBS for insurance. They are absolutely criminal.

      We bought into the hype of getting a BCBS ******** Advantage Plan. It was effective January 1, ****************************** February 28, 2023. All BCBS did was deny payments and even refused my husband surgery for a torn meniscus in his knee. It was 50% torn and he was in so much pain. We are staying with regular ********.BCBS will take your money but not approve payments for your medical care. They need to drop the ** in their company name.Don't fall for this horrible I surance coverage.

      Placing stickers on medical cards that dont peel off, and then requiring people to call the number on that sticker is a ****** in the ridiculous. Completely unimpressed.

      They cover nothing. I am left with thousands out of pocket and have had to cancel future injectuons, ************. I have malfunctioning nedical device and I can no longer afford to continue to manage that either. So it is a lifetime of pain or illegal drugs so I can function and continue to work to pay my medical debts must days I struggle even walk without pain. Cheaper to go without insurance and I will do just that next chance I have to cancel. This is sad because BCBS used to be a good insurer, not anymore.
