On December 19,2023 the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd 11(b)(8)(9), 326B.84 (2)(12)(15) (2022) and Minn. Rule 2891.0040, subp. 1D (2021). Under terms of the Consent Order, the business agreed to only transact business in the name they are licensed as; to be prohibited from allowing anyone or other business from using Pineview Builders' residential building contractor license for any reason and from filing and/or obtaining building permits for any others unless the business is contracted to get the permits. The business also agreed to not allow Thomas Balkins, or anyone affiliated or previously affiliated with 'Westurn' or 'Westridge' to have any fiduciary control or authority for the business. The business further agreed to provide DLI with an updated disclosure of all owners and officers of the business to DLI and to pay $2,000.00 of a $5,000.00 penalty, with the balance stayed on the condition that the business fully complies with the terms of the Consent Order and has no future violations of any law, rule or order under DLI authority.
