On January 14, 2025, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. §§ 326B.082, subd. 11 (b)(1)(2)(5)(8)(9); 326B.084; 326B.095; 326B.805, subd. 5 (c); 326B.809; 326B.84 (1)(2)(4)(5)(14)(15); 326B.86, subd. 2 (2022); and Minn. R. 2891.0050, subps. 1A and 1H (2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to ensure all contracts and change orders are in writing; request all building permits before beginning work; provide reasonable supervision over employees, subcontractors and/or salesperson and ensure all work meets the State Building Code Standards. The business also agreed to complete all work listed in contracts and change orders before requesting final payment or the release of insurance proceeds, and to have general liability insurance as required.
The business will also pay $1,517.00 from a Licensing Order in July, 2015 and a $5,000.00 fine, with the full balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of both this Order and the 2015 Order, and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
