            According to information provided by consumers and by the company, PBI Research Services (Pension Benefit Information, LLC) began sending out letters in July / Aug 2023 to consumers potentially impacted by a data breach that occurred in May. The data breach involved 'MOVEIt' file transfer software, used by PBI and many companies in the finance and insurance fields. (PBI provides third-party services to these finance / insurance companies.) In response to this data breach, PBI is sending out letters suggesting steps consumers can take to protect their personal information, including an offer of free credit monitoring services through a company called Kroll. If you have received such a letter, you can safely follow instructions in the letter if you wish to take advantage of the credit monitoring services. BBB also encourages consumers potentially impacted by a data breach to monitor bank / credit card statements carefully, and review their credit report periodically for any suspicious activity.

            There was a security breach on their (***) part on 5/29/23 through 5/30/23. My social security number & other information was stolen. *** offered a 1 year free monitoring service through *****. I have now, just yesterday (3/19/24), found out that my social security number and email have been found on the "dark web" specifically being attributed to ***'s breach. I am being told there is NO WAY to remove it from the dark web. This information is out there because of ***'s breach. My information will be out on the dark web long after the one year free monitoring *** offered.I feel it is ***'s obligation and responsibility to give me free extended protection for life, because thier data breach will effect me for life. I tried to call them directly, but there is no phone number listed for them.I want them to provide lifetime monitoring services, at their expense.             There is NO way to get through to *** to register for this service offered to us in relation to a data breach with VRS. Letter stated we had to Feb 8, **** to register. Site will not accept my registration and the phone number is "no longer available." Been trying for weeks!VRS only says I have to get with PBI but gives me no other way of contacting them!Someone is not keeping up their end of the deal and I feel this leaves me vulnerable.This is so wrong. Need help!************
