I took my car to this shop and they were done with what seemed to be a big job in a matter of hours. They charged $800, and the car was worse than it was when I dropped it off. The shop was closed for a month after that service. I took my car to other shops and was told the work had not been done. The owner of the shop told us that he could not verify what was fixed without the receipt. When we presented the receipt, he would not acknowledge it.

    Business Response

    To Whom It May Concern,

Yes, Ms. ***** did bring her vehicle to Nghia Auto Service for an alignment, oil change, and tune-up. Upon inspection, I discovered several serious safety issues: both outer tie rod ends were failing, both upper control arms with ball joints were worn out, and both front tires were in unsafe condition (especially the drivers side, which was bald and wobbling).

I immediately informed Ms. ***** of the necessary repairs. She stated she could not afford all of the work at once. At her request, I completed only the oil change, replaced both outer tie rod ends, and performed the alignment while making it very clear that the vehicle still required new upper control arms and replacement front tires to be safe.

Her partner later picked up the vehicle, and I told him that he needed to come back so I could finish fixing his upper control arm for a special order (Mercedes Part).

However, weeks later Ms. ***** contacted me claiming the vehicle was still not fixed. Upon reinspection, it was apparent that the unsafe tires had still not been replaced the exact issue I had warned her about from the start.

While another shop apparently sold her some additional work (which was not needed), the most critical items the bald tires and control arms were ignored. It is therefore inaccurate for Ms. ***** to suggest her vehicle was not repaired properly at Nghia Auto Service. The reality is that her refusal to approve the full scope of necessary work left her car unsafe to drive, exactly as I had explained.

    Respectfully,

    Nghia Auto Service

    Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:

This owner was out of the country and his shop was closed for close to a month after said work was done. I NEVER asked for an oil change or tune up, those services were never even discussed. I said my car was making noises that sounded like a bed ( at which point he made inappropriate comments that I ignored and proceeded to speak about the issue) and needed to know what the cause was. He asked me to bring the car in and took a look at it. He said that he completed half of the work that needed to be done. He is now saying that he did an oil change, tune up and alignment. I was never told that. In fact, I just paid for an alignment to be done after taking my car to two different shops for an inspection and both said it needed an alignment along with other major work. Due to his dishonesty, I am out of close to $5,000 from renting cars, replacing tires twice, and having the actual work done. I will take further action to recover these funds as my car has actually been repaired by an honest mechanic.
