    Be prepared to haggle with someone remotely. At the location I was at, you walk in and they set you up to video conference in to complete your booking, which includes sending documents to a gmail account, which makes you wonder why.
    Be ready for the sales and negotiation tactics that I would consider dishonest. Asking "Which insurance are you going to purchase from us" rather than, "do you have insurance?" type of thing. "What car would you like" when shockingly whatever you say is going to increase what you booked already, so you have to potentially walk it back. Check your car insurance and your credit card, both likely have policies that will suffice and you won't need to buy any insurance from ACE.
    I booked "dealers choice" car, so naturally they tried to get me to "upgrade" from the car they claimed to have the most of, a mini van. I just said that was fine, and all of a sudden they needed that for other people who had large groups and could give me a sedan. I honestly didn't care much which car I had, but don't lie to me if you want my business. You made the sale before I walked in the door, stop trying to get more out of me. Expect them to try to negotiate with random discounts (airline, employee, credit card), but all of them still more than you agreed paid initially.
    It was fine if you just refuse to haggle. I highly recommend flat out refusing to pay anything more than you agreed when booking (make sure you have insurance already), if you can do that, you'll be fine. If not, book somewhere else.

    Super disappointed in this company. I recently rented a car from them after flying in from the west coast to see my parents. I prepaid for the rental. I was asked if I would like to purchase insurance and I declined. I had the car for 5 days and returned it promptly on time. When I signed the paperwork as I checked out, it said that the balance due was zero. I assumed everything was good to go after I had prepaid for the car. A week later I got a charge on my credit card for more than I had paid for the rental. Now I'm paying double the quoted cost. I called the company and they said that I had to purchase insurance because I did not produce any insurance initially. I told them that I was never offered a chance to produce my personal car insurance. They said they would do an inquiry. I got a call 30 minutes later and they told me they did an investigation and I was denied my money back. The person on the phone told me they would talk to the front desk person and correct their actions for future interactions, however they would not be able to help me and I would not get my money back. This is such a bummer, because they have a nice facility and I would've liked to rent from them in the future. After this experience however, I will never do business with them again and it's a big loss, considering how much I travel to Minnesota. It's unfortunate. Instead of correcting their mistake or giving me a credit for future business, they made me at fault. I would not recommend this place. You're better off renting at the airport.

    I booked a car online at FLL on June 12/23 Ace car rentals . I got there after my rental time and they canceled my reservation and gave the car away I had booked . They would rent me another car but at a very high rate . The would not get me a different car at the rate I had booked the one they canceled . I’ll never rent from
    Them again .

    Stole my credit card and I had to dispute charges. Deposit still hasn’t been refunded. When booking they say you can pick up in the airport but that is a lie. Everything is off site, returns/pick up etc.

    First of all, ACE car rental makes it appear as if you are able to pick up your car at the airport. The other car rental companies at MN International airport have cars available at the airport, but with ACE you have to catch a shuttle (that no one is at the desk to call for) and then get the car at an outlying facility. While doing the paperwork to get my car, I was asked if I wanted to top off the gas before dropping the car off, or prepay for the amount used. I choose to pre-pay and then drove approximately 30 miles before dropping it off. I received my receipt and found I was charged for a full tank of gas (*****) which was more than my rental charge! I called ACE and they said that I'd signed an agreement saying I'd pay for a full tank of gas. This wasn't what was told to me, and I foolishly trusted the checkin person when she said it was for what I used.ACE won't work with me at all on this. I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know not to use them as well.
