My mother and father have lived here for many years. The care has significantly declined as they have required more assistance over the years. If you just need a roof over your loved ones head, this place will do. But if your loved one requires any level of care, look elsewhere. The management and nurses dont train the staff on how to safely transition residents from a wheelchair to their recliner or bed. I have witnessed countless instances where my fathers safety and comfort were compromised during a transfer. The aids do the bare minimum. They will bring my father food and occasionally change his brief but as Ive witnessed, their interactions with him are brief and unfriendly. Yelling move your foot to a man with no no sensation in his limbs and limited motor control over his legs is ridiculous and hurtful. They employed one aid who was caring, compassionate, and engaged with my father. But she left the facility and now he is left with the aids who are just going through the bare motions to keep their jobs. I recently noticed that the aids were never rinsing my fathers toothbrush between uses. It is absolutely disgusting and dirty. I found it this weekend and couldnt believe my eyes. It is coated in a thick yellow ***** paste with particles of food stuck in the bristles. I brought it to the aids attention and they blew me off saying, brushing teeth isnt part of their job and that it was the Night Shift who do that. Deflecting blame and providing insufficient care is the name of the game there. Do NOT place your family there.
