1 starI had a water filtration system installed in April '22 to address undrinkable well water and my experience has been disappointing from the start. Someone was supposed to return in two months to test the systemno one ever did. Multiple calls, texts, and emails about it were ignored. The salesperson vanished immediately after payment and never responded again.The customer service number I was given went to voicemail. When I used the online form through Pentairs website about drain lines (installed straight into the dirt, leaving a deep hole in my yard), I was told that doesnt look right but given no real help and told to contact the installer, who was unreachable after he'd installed the system backwards and returned the following day to fix it.The system has had repeated issues:- Foul-smelling water - Injector broke after 16 months, fixing it myself using online resources - Discolored, gray, water requiring multiple regenerations to clear.- It now has a constant brown tint that regen does not fix.The chemical tank has also failed. The bleach/water level hasn't dropped in a year, which I initially thought was due to lower water usage (my household shrank from 5 to 1 person); however, the algae now growing inside the tank proves the system isn't functioning correctly.I followed all maintenance instructionsadding bleach and salt, monthly tank drains, changing filtersyet my water still looks like lake water. I spent thousands expecting clean, safe water and got unreliable results with no support.The service and product have been abysmal. While it may have once been under warranty, no one honored it. Now, as I near the five-year **** and must replace expensive filters, Im still stuck with a system that doesnt do its basic job.I regret trusting this company with such an important investment and urge others to explore better options.Pentair Inc

Based on what you are describing, the main issue stems from the seal kit on the chlorine injector. That needs to be replaced every 6 months in order for the system to continue to operate. Without chlorine being injected, you will have the rotten egg smell and discoloration of the water as it sits. 1 starCompletely lacking in any customer support. Multiple attempts to contact have resulted in zero or severely lacking follow-up on their part. I've contacted them numerous times, dating back to October of 2015 and have been very unimpressed with their level of care and service. We went through 3 booster pumps in a span of 4 years. Pentair warrantied the first, my installer warrantied the second after Pentair refused and I ate the cost of the third. If I buy myself and install I get a 60 day warranty. If a professional(dealer) installs, the warranty is only a year. That is a pathetic warranty for a product that should have a much larger life span. More recently our filters starting performing poorly and it was found they needed replaced after NINE MONTHS of pool use. That is an abysmal performance for a $500 set of filters. I've contacted them three times now regarding the filter performance and have had no reply. Their products just don't justify their asking price and their customer service is absent.Pentair Inc

1 starOur MaterTemp Pool Heater stopped working for the third time in 18 months! We opened this claim at the beginning of April and we still don't have the part yet (for Error Code SFS). We have gone 30 days without heat in our pool because your company cannot provide us with a reliable pool heater, This is unacceptable! We spent a LOT of money on your Pool Equipment and to have it breakdown three times in 18 months is just WRONG!Pentair Inc

1 starPoor quality I had the heater the ******BTU. Stopped working while was under the warranty. They send inspector and inspector confirmed the problem is the failure of heat exchanger but the company is not taking responsibility to replace or fixing it and they are saying is due to water damage. Not sure why they send inspector if they never had intention to fix or change the unit. I would not buy their products anymore. Their heater did not even worked 2 years and if I was not home something very serious could happen to my house with gas leakPentair Inc

1 starI purchased a Pentair Superflo Variable Speed Pool pump and after only 6 months, it broke. Pentair ******************* claims its due to freeze by pictures alone and won't cover it's replacement. Prior to this pump I had a Jandy Stealth pump which lasted over 12 years! 12 ******* with NO issue. I will NEVER buy from this company again as they do not make quality products but want to charge you high prices like they do.Pentair Inc

The warranty claim was denied due to damage evident in the provided photo. The sheared retaining tabs on the lid, along with the housing crack near the discharge pipe, indicate the unit experienced internal force consistent with freeze damage.
We understand this is disappointing. However, identifying the cause through the photo provided prevents the customer from incurring unnecessary expenses. A service call for non-warranty related damage would result in charges for the visit and any subsequent repairs or replacements. We respectfully recommend the customer reach out to a local pool professional for a possible repair/replacement since this is not covered under our warranty policy.Review fromMichael D

1 starSo we have pentair equipment for our pool and the salt board went out before the warranty was expired and they provided a new one and it went out in six months. Now we have to pay for a new one and the labor to install it. As long as you pay for it they will warranty it for one year but if they replace a bad part under warranty it is only good until your original warranty is up. Doesnt matter if it is only in for a day they will not warranty it if the original three years are up the day after installation. They have problems and they dont care about the consumer. There are other companies out there and I wish we had gone with a better company. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME ON THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!Review fromJulie P

1 starWould offer less than one star if I could. Bought ***** 1/4 HP Submersible Laundry Pump from Menards online March 2024. It was installed by licensed/bonded plumber. Switch went out within a month; plumber confirmed this and advised us to manually turn it on as needed while we contacted Pentair. Pentair said go to Menards and get a new switch even though multiple documents in the package say DO NOT RETURN TO STORE. CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR PARTS. While arguing with Menards and Pentair about who owed us a new switch, the motor burnt up on pump. Plumber confirmed. We called Pentair customer service who said to return it to Menards. I explained wed already been down this road with the switch, that multiple pieces of paper in the box say DONT RETURN TO STORE. CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE. **************** *** told me to read warranty section of manual. He wouldnt tell me what it said, mind you, just advised me to read it. It says customer is responsible for shipping and labor costs for ***air, and they have the option to refuse ***air or ***lacement at their discretion after youve paid shipping costs. So long story short, buy a different brand or youll waste money on a useless product, waste time with customer service, spend more money on shipping and still likely end up with a pump that doesnt work. I notice Menards doesnt carry these in their stores (they stock a different brand) and Simers keep dropping in price, so Im guessing my experience isnt unique. No, thanks.Review fromMatt H

1 starWater softner started leaking from the control valve. Sent in for a warranty claim, 3.5 months later, still no replacement. You can see the effects of hard water everywhere now. Buying a replacement on my own because this company is worthless. Buy a different brand. I can't buy a new unit so I'm stuck with them for now, learn from my mistake and so many others who have had similar experiences. I recommend someone else than Pentair.Review fromJonathan N

1 starHorrible ***************** Originally bought an Ichlor 30 June 21 and had to have it replaced Jan 2022. Now the replacement went bad and they will only honor the warranty from the original defective device. Of course Im only 2 months out of warranty for that. No concessions, no help. Terrible company. Go with ******* or someone else.
