I'm extremely disappointed with my vehicle purchase. I will say, my experience with Mathison itself was great. I believe I had worked with Kari? It was awhile now, but she was a fantastic gal. Very knowledgeable and worked hard to get what we THOUGHT was a decent vehicle. Unfortunately, it has been anything BUT decent. From a month into purchasing it, it had issues galore. The check engine light came on and it started "sputtering" and we had to bring it into the dealership. That, is when we had to start dealing with the BS that is Credit Acceptance and the "awesome" extended warranty that Mathison sold us. Fortunately, this time it covered what was wrong. But, that was just the tip of the ice burg. This is a 2012 vehicle that had 117,000 miles when purchased. Clearly it wasn't maintained, but looked the part. After not quite a year of owning it, the vehicle completely died when I tried driving home after work one day, without warning in the middle of a turn! Come to find out.... TIMING BELT.... yeah... and my husband is very mechanically inclined and took amazing care of the vehicle. He aside from maybe ONE time when we first got it, he did all routine maintenance on it, checking and changing the oil included. Well, the warranty we purchased SHOULD have covered his huge thing wrong in the vehicle... nope, they refused. Why? Because of BUILT UP OIL SLUDGE. Because us owning it for not even a year when we take amazing care of it and barely drive it could have done that...yep, totally. But, because we didn't take it in, we had to pay. Now? Not even a year after THAT being replaced... the whole ENGINE needs to be replaced! We paid an original almost $16k for this vehicle ($26k+ with Credit Acceptance's insane APR rates) and its not even drivable because we need to put another $4k into the engine. So, word of advice.... Just.... Bring your potential vehicle in for a mechanic to check BEFORE you sign off on it. Don't get screwed over like us and our credit...
