I ordered a storm door in November 2024 and it was missing a part. Contacted ********** where we purchased the door, and were told we had to go through Andersen. I have been calling for almost a year to try and get the part and nothing is happening. The first time I called they sent the wrong part. Then I was told they dont sell that particular part and we would be getting a new door. No new door. Called again they were able to screen share and see the specific part and were supposed to send it. Called again today as we still have not received the part and were told that wed receive it in 4-5 business days. Asked for a supervisor and was told the supervisor was busy. I have a door that has been laying in my garage for a year that I paid a contractor to hang and he cant. So now Im out the labor as well as the cost of the door.Business Response

Andersen is not able to locate information related to this customer and believe they may have purchased their project through Renewal by Andersen LLC. I will get in touch with Renewal by Andersen and if this is their customer I will have them contact as soon as possible. If the customer did not purchase through Renewal by Andersen then I will need some additional information on the dealer/contractor they purchased through. Thank-you!Customer Answer

Paid Andersen Window Corporation $23,500.00+ to remove and replace 6 windows and 2 patio doors in my residence. 4 of the windows were installed to agreed upon conditions and are very nice, 2 small windows arrived with incorrect hardware installed (wrong color and incorrect design?) in which Andersen provided the correct hardware within a few days of installation. These 2 windows are very loose fitting and are of poor quality as compared to the 4 large windows that were installed. The 2 patio doors (1 set in dining room and 1 set in basement fireplace room) were installed incorrectly on the 1st try (Andersen installed them and just left, and then made me do all of the work to get them corrected). Once the next crew arrived months later they couldn't adjust either of the 2 sets and said they both needed to be removed and replaced. MONTHS later, another crew arrived and removed the incorrectly and poorly installed patio doors, proceeded to cut and remove the brand new siding around the door openings that was installed on my home and installed 2 new patio set doors. However these were installed even worse than the first install crew and NO flashing was installed under the dining room door where they had cut out the brand new flashing, J channel and siding so water has been entering my home under the patio door for the entire summer of 2025 and running down the inside of my basement walls. I called Andersen multiple times during June/July/August 2025 and a repair crew finally arrived today, 22 September 2025, and they proceeded to say they have never seen such poorly installed doors and they need to be removed and replaced. I do not want them to just replace them more poorly each time, I already have water entering my home and they will do nothing about this damage. Refund my money so ***** or another company can install these correctly, I don't want them touching the 2 windows either. Please help resolve this situation. Thank you.Business Response

I purchased my condo in **********, **, in 2019. The building was constructed with Andersen windows, and from the beginning, there were water intrusion issues. In the early years, there was extensive back-and-forth between the developer and Andersen. Andersen conducted water testing, and because multiple units had the same problem, they eventually sent a team from ************ during COVID to perform repairs across the condo associations ************************* May 2025, I reported new water damage at the corner of my window. Since then, I have made over 10 calls, submitted photos, completed a video assessment, and had an on-site inspection by Window Wiz, who confirmed this is the same problem other units in the building had which Andersen repaired at no cost.Despite this, Andersen has delayed for months and provided conflicting information:- Representatives initially told me Andersen would cover repairs.- I was advised not to schedule independent work because a resolution was being arranged.- Corporate representatives recently told me this was an installation issue, contradicting prior guidance.- Corporate also acknowledged to me that water issues only get worse with time, yet I was left waiting for months.- The Field Service Manager claimed to have sent a letter to my association, but both I and the association confirmed no letter was ever received.Water intrusion poses risks of mold, indoor air quality, and structural damage. Andersen has previously repaired identical issues in this same building at no cost, but is now refusing to take responsibility for mine after months of delay.I am requesting that Andersen honor its obligations and provide the same resolution already given to other homeowners in my building: prompt repair or replacement of the defective window at no cost.Business Response

This customer has also sent a complaint to the ************************* in ************** We will be responding to the Attorney General with our response. Once we have done that we can respond further to this complaint. If additional information is required at this time please let me know.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Andersen has not provided any resolution or substantive answer to my complaint. Simply stating that they will respond to the DC **** office does not address my BBB complaint. Until Andersen provides a direct resolution to the issues raised in my complaint which including the delays, lack of communication, and the water intrusion problem, this complaint remains unresolved.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
it does not address or resolve my complaint. Andersen has delayed for months, and now states only that they will respond to the ** Attorney General at a later date. This continued stalling is part of the problem. I still have water intrusion and no resolution. Until Andersen provides a clear and timely plan to fix the issue, this complaint remains unresolved.Initial Complaint

I purchased an Andersen storm door on 3/15/21 and it is still under warranty. The door hing broke, bending the frame of the door. The door itself is no longer square, has rubbed away metal and the paint from the frame and door, and the door leaks water anytime it rains. I contacted warranty support and they are refusing to replace the door, only the hing itself. My Case number with them is ********.Business Response

I am very sorry to hear of the customer's dissatisfaction with **********************'s response to their concerns. This is a DYI door however, and the replacement of the hinge is what needs to be replaced. The door is 5 years old and appears to have some maintenance concerns. A storm door is not meant to keep all water out of your home but to serve as an additional barrier to the storm to the entry door. I can have an Andersen *********** Manager contact the customer to discuss this matter further.Customer Answer
Date: 06/06/2025
I am rejecting this response because:
The door is not 5 years old, it is 4. It is also fully under YOUR warranty. Just because it's a "DIY" door, doesn't mean you can then escape the warranty that you are supposed to provide because a homeowner installed it (per your DIY comment). The door was installed per your directions, broke the hinge (even per your admission), which then bent and broke the door itself, because it was being pushed/pressed against the flush frame. One broken part can lead to a cascade of broken parts because it takes other things with it.Initial Complaint

We had an Andersen slider installed July of 2024. It has been leaking a significant amount of air ~half way up the sliding pane since the first day it was installed. We have been working with Andersen to try to rectify the issue, but they have continued to state that it was an installation issue. We had a 3rd party installer evaluate the installation and asked for a quote to re-install it; however, they indicated they didn't recommend any corrections to the original installation as it was installed correctly and they have seen the same thing happen on other Andersen sliders recently and believe it is a manufacturer defect. Andersen has sent someone out multiple times and the representatives have attempted replacing the interlock twice and the stationary pane once. None of this has resolved the issue - the interlock appears to be defective (each one has had a bend in the location where the air is leaking and doesn't appear to be wide enough to seal). At this point, Andersen is now stating they will not work with us directly and we need to go through the vendor that we purchased the slider through. We are proposing that we have the 3rd party come back out and re-install the door and, if it is still leaking, Andersen refund the cost for the re-installation, replace the door, and provide the labor for the final installation. This appears to be a known issue with the Andersen slider and Andersen appears disinterested in evaluating their product for manufacturing defects.Business Response
