End of May 2025 my wife and I had a representative for Everdry come inspect our basement to see if it was holding a lot of moisture or needed repair. We have an old house with a cement basement, so there were some issues found. After talking with the agent, we decided to have Everydry come and add a sub pump and repair the protective barrier on the outside of the home. Day one of the crew starting work there were issues. The main pipe leading to the kitchen on our first floor, main pipe leading to the kitchen on our 2nd floor and part of a pipe in the basement were "broken already". These things were not broken before they came, as we were in the basement clearing out the area the days before the crew was supposed to get there. There were no broken pipes and our kitchen functioned properly. Day they started working and on the weekend of my wife's craft show where she needed our kitchen to bake, is when our pipes were damaged and made the kitchen unusable. The supervisor claimed that either we did something that caused the damage or it was already broken before they started their work. Everything worked fine until they started the work. The supervisor said they could fix the pipe for cash and since we were desperate we let them. From what the city inspector said, they did not do it properly. we also had to pay over $2k of our mortgage money to get the kitchen back working. At the time of writing this, it has been about 5 months since the work was done and they have refused to come do the final inspection, avoiding ours and the city inspectors calls, claiming it isn't needed. permit says final inspection is required. DM came to look and said the cement we found in pipe was food. In the basement wash tub. Food would have had to come straight down the pipe and cut a hard 90 for that to be true. ** said he's done this for 12 years so he knows. There is more to say but there isn't enough space to write it. We did what we thought best for us and kids. Feels like a scam.

It is our position that we did not cause a drain in the kitchen to back up from our work in the basement.  Furthermore, we discovered that the plumbing under the floor was rotted out due to age which was likely the cause of the backup.  The customer had someone make the repair of the rotted plumbing.  There were additional existing plumbing issues that were discovered that were repaired by us at zero cost to the customer that would have likely cost them well over $1000.  We did this in the name of customer service.  The city has inspected the work and gave us a final approval but suggested that we run a camera through the line to make sure it was clear.  Although it wasn't our responsibility, we paid a plumber to do so.  The results of the camera showed the line was clear.

I would like to point out that our contract clearly states that we are nor responsible for their existing plumbing.  Additionally, our contract states that it is the homeowners responsibility to pay for all electrical work that is required for the pump system.  We had the electrical work done and Everdry absorbed several hundred dollars and did not bill the customer as stated ibn the contract.

It is our belief because we were not contractually responsible for their existing plumbing in the first place, as well as the fact it was rotted out before we got there, we do not bare any responsibility whatsoever.   We also can't forget that we repaired other plumbing issues that were not our responsibility at no charge.  Additionally, we paid for their electrical which we were not responsible for that shows that we care about our customers and go above and beyond. Finally, we paid to prove the line was clear, which it was.

The free plumbing repair, the free electrical and the free camera work is over and above what we were contractually obligated to do.

Job started December 9, 2022. Job mostly completed by December 21, 2022 The amount for the job is approx. $23K The business provided me waterproofing of my basement, and encapsulation of my crawlspace.During the work my 1st level toilet stopped flushing December 13,2022. It would not flush. I end up scheduling a plumber. I notified the lead on the waterproofing job of the plumbers interruption. The waterproofing lead same they found a broken pipe, which putting the two together the finding of the broken pipe and my 1st level bathrooms stopped working was not a coincidence. The waterproofing company fixed the pipe before my plumber arrived. The toilet had resumed working and plumber didnt find any issue. The next weekend of December 17th, 2022. I am washing dishes and hear gurgling from the toilet in the bathroom. I go downstairs and my basement is flooding. I called around 6 plumbers and got one to come out and had to pay $1200 for a hydro jet. They cleared the line. I didnt think anything at the time all of these plumbing issues happening after this job started. The week of the jobs completion it happened again. Called the plumbers back and they had hydrojetted my sewage line again. They stuck a camera down the line and ************** pieces in my line just 3ft out of the sewage line and 6ft for the bigger pieces.I contacted Everdry and notified them of they ************ in my line due either to the broken pipe they supposedly found and through negligence of their workers. they sent their plumber who cleaned out some of the cement pieces. He noted he could hear them being sucked out by the wet/vac. He could not get the other more bigger pieces out and advised me to not put any TP down the train until EverDry works out what they want to do. He also pushed the concrete further into the sewage line approximately 30ft. He sat in the car and talked with EverDry and then left. After more talks with Everdry. First them claiming its not their concrete and therefore they take no responsibility, which doesnt make sense. It was their job that caused the destruction of the pipe as they didnt expect a pipe right there or they when cleaning accidentally ************ in the line. They wanted me to sign a paper stating that. I said no. Then more weeks into January they got back with me and saying they will come out and dig up the pipe or I get someone to dig it up, but they need to be here to confirm the concrete piece. Then after that they determine it is not their concrete will not take responsibility for the repair. So I am still stuck to this day without being able to put TP down my sewage line. I called and got quotes for concrete removal and its $6K for the repair. This is ridiculous. EverDry then emailed me say that I hope they understand the repair (that they caused) would be too expensive to fix. They also didnt fix this ********* installation on the side of my house that looks so unprofessional my insurance company asked about it.Everdry needs to take responsibility and fix this. How is it these pieces were already there all of sudden only after you guys came and waterproof my home. I had not experienced any sewage blocks in all the 2 years I been here.
