I have been purchasing yarn, etc from Mary Maxim online for years. Always satisfied with price, product and delivery. This week i received an email inviting me to purchase items in my cart at ridiculous low prices - $03. and $04. The prices weren't reflected in my cart, of course and they refused to honor the email prices. I thought i would let it go but i got another email today with wild prices and customer service states that it is a 'web error'. I wish had some recourse other than to discontinue buying from this company ever again.

BUYERS BEWARE!: I have never had an issue with Mary Maxim before, but about 2 weeks ago I received their puzzle catalog advertising "Buy 3 puzzles, get 1 free." Each puzzle we wanted was listed as $16.99 regular price and $12.99 sale price. I started to order then, but shipping was $15.99. Since the expiration date on the catalog was May 31, ****, I decided to wait to see if they would offer a deal on shipping. Today I received an email indicating free shipping, so I decided to order the four puzzles we had chosen. Imagine my surprise when every one of them was listed online for $19.99 regular price and $14.99 for the sale price! When I called the company, they tried to tell me that they had not updated the prices online yet--two weeks after the catalog came out? and the prices online were higher? Plus, they did have the "buy 3, get 1 free" part online. To be fair, the customer service rep gave me the catalog prices and the free shipping, but I could have easily been cheated had I not been paying attention or if I had not had the catalog and online open at the same time. It seems to me that the company raised the prices online, hoping that people wouldn't notice as they ordered. If they called in, unless they were paying attention, they could easily have paid more than the catalog prices. This felt very much like false advertising to me. Given that I have ordered several items from this company, I am very disappointed that this happened. I will be very careful to watch the pricing from them in the future.
