LRS Recycling services:I Received Bill with letter from them on 10-10-2024. They raised the rates on service again. In letter they expect me to go to auto-pay with their company, or face a $9.95 charge every billing cycle to pay online or by check. I do not use auto-pay for anything. I do not allow companies access to my financial accounts for safety reasons. To be penalized for not using auto-pay is not right, and to me borderline illegal.I called to cancel my account immediately, to which they refused, stating that the account cannot be closed until the end of the month.If they would have sent the bill normally, which i would have received approximately 2 weeks ago, i would have had time to call and cancel before the new statement came out. I received the new bill 2 weeks into the new quarter (10-10-2024) started and am being told I cannot cancel until the end of the month. I feel that i should be able to cancel immediately to keep from incurring any more expenses on my part. I feel that they did this on purpose to make sure that they can get more money for services NOT rendered. This scenario doesnt seem right on so many levels.Again, if they would have sent the invoices out on time, i could have called and cancelled before the start of the new quarter. The way this has come about doesn't seem fair or right for anyone who received this letter from them. It comes across as being sneaky, greedy, and underhanded. By them delaying the invoice, it puts them in a position to collect extra money for nothing, causing us to wait until the end of the month to cancel. I feel that because of their actions i should either be able to cancel immediately , or be retroactively back dated to the beginning of the month to cancel, since they were so late in sending out the invoicesInitial Complaint

On June 18 I canceled my service with LRS Recycling in *****, ********. I had been billed for three months June-August at $77.74. At that time I asked about a refund and was told the request had to be made through billing. I called today July 12 and was told there wouldn't be a refund. I figure that LRS owes me $59.00. Their reasoning was that I chose another company. That should not make a difference in giving me a refund. If they had not kept raising their prices I would had continued with them since I had been a costumer for 30 years.Initial Complaint

LRS has taken over Michiana waste for ****************. Ive spoken to them twice. They said theyd pick up my trash. They have not done it in two weeks. This is becoming a health issue now today they are supposed to pick up the trash. Ive called their number and they hung up on me two times, they say press two to leave a message that does not work. I pay for trash pick up services and they have not picked up our trash. I have tried calling them to resolve the matter and no one will answer and they do not return messages. We sat our trash out for pick up in the green container this past Wednesday morning. The large green container was taken. When my mom called in, she was told, "we don't do residential anymore"No letter, no notice, no nothing? Just removed. The trash container? Now we cannot even reach anyone by phone? What poor customer service. Please issue a refund to my parents for November 2023 and ongoing. Canceled service in April. A check had been sent for the next 3 months of service. When I canceled service the person ask if there was anything they could do to keep my business. I told her that their last price increase was more than my Social Security could stand. On about 8-21-2023 I called asking about my refund. I was told that they do give refunds. I was not told this when I canceled. The person that I spoke with said that she told me that. I was not told that or I would have not canceled at that time. Invoice #********. On 05/08/23 we mailed our check for $87 to Michiana Recycling & Disposal. They were providing trash/recycling service to us. The payment of $87 was for 3 months of service - June, July, August **** the invoice received from Michiana Recycling, we discovered that they had increased our rates with no prior communication. Via social media we also discovered that they were taking our recycled items directly to the landfill. Not only did they increase our rates but they also discontinued providing a service that they were charging us for.After shopping our services, we decided to move to another provider. On June 26, I contacted their office and informed them that we were cancelling. They informed me that my account was prepaid for 2 months. I asked them to please mail my refund of approximately $58.00. Michiana Recycling was to pick-up my cart on July 24. I called Michiana Recycling on July 25th and again and asked them to pick up their cart. Pick-up did take place on 26th after my call. During the same conversation, on the 25th with ****** in their office, I indicated that it had been approximately 30 days since cancellation and I had still not received my refund of $58 for prepaid service not used. ****** indicated that they would NOT be refunding my $58. She indicated that they do not refund small amounts on prepaid serviced that are cancelled. I informed her that back on June 26, when I cancelled the service, I was informed that a refund check was being mailed. She indicated that refunds can only come with management approval. I asked her to have someone from management call me. ****** indicated that I would receive a call within 2 days. It is now a week later and no one has called. I also asked for a copy of anything in their file, with my signature that states that prepayments would not be refunded upon cancellation. I have received no proof.I am asking for your help in helping me get my prepaid $58 that is due back to me from them.Initial Complaint

******* was not picked up on scheduled day Friday June 30th. My husband left a message with Michiana office on Saturday. We did not receive a call back , so Monday morning he called and left another message. Later in the morning he did reach a rep and he explained the situation that our waste needed to be picked up today with the holiday being Tuesday and we had guests. The rep told him it would not be picked up til the next scheduled pick up because the driver said our can was not outside. He assured her it was and was still told no .Then we find out that not only was ours not picked up but so were other neighbors not picked up. They also were told the driver said their cans were not out. After numerous phone calls Michiana showed up on Saturday the July 8th and picked up our neighbors but not our. We left message again and when we finally spoke to a rep they apologized and said it was a new driver. My husband told them to come get the garbage and their can . The rep assured him it would be picked up. That conversation was Monday 10th and no pick up .Initial Complaint

We have been loyal customers with Michiana Recycling, now LRS. Currently they charge $25 monthly and have discontinued recycling. We pay 3 months in advance for the service. We are paid up for July, August and September, as of June 13th. We can get service much cheaper through the ******************. I called to cancel and get a refund on the unused 3 months. I was told they would cut a check and put it in the mail. I discovered the ****************** would take through July before service was approved and container delivered. When I called Michiana Recycling to just get a refund for August and September, I was told their policy is to not give refunds for those who are switching to another company!!! What a horrible company! I am keeping service for these next 3 months since they won't refund, but I wouldn't recommend anyone do business with a company this unethical. Not refunding unused service money seems illegal too, but I don't know.Initial Complaint

We paid $81.00 for garbage and recycling on March 1st for service the months of April, May and June. There is not an extra charge for recycling but it is included in our service. We just found out on May 5th that they have not been recycling since January 2023. We only found out because of a phone call to request more recycling bags. We asked Michiana for a refund for the month of June so we could pay for service with a new company that provides recycling. They said they were bought out in January by LRS and could not refund ** any money. We would not have paid our bill in March if we knew recycling was discontinued. Any recycling we did from January until present time has been dumped in the garbage with out our knowledge. We were told today we could drive 26 miles each way to drop off recycling. This is not acceptable to **.
