I recently purchased a ***** Malibu from a local dealer and soon as I notice the battery had been reset on the drive home with it I began to be skeptical, it felt like maybe they took the battery off to reset the pcm to clear error codes. Upon the Initial drive it seemed alright, but by the morning next day I noticed a shaking and vibration from the engine, so far I only drove 28 miles on it, I drive another 28 back into town to do my laundry and the check engine light starts flashing and it starts idling bad. I go home check it out with a ODB scanner and get an engine code for a misfiring cylinder a huge issue with cars that left unfixed will total the engine. So I call the business mention the battery being reset and the engine errors/misfiring/knocking/vibration they get defensive, but say theyre willing to check it out. I drop it off for over a day and they call me saying the engine needs swapped out and theyre willing to cover 50 percent of it so Id be responsible for 2200-2500 dollars on top of the financing. I originally say alright, but after talking to others I was instructed to maybe see a lawyer to make sure Im not being defrauded or what my rights are. I call them back and say I need some time to seek legal consolation to know my rights before I sign anything, upon this they tell me they are parking it with the keys in it and now not touching it and hung up on me. My car is in another shop to confirm the issue and estimate for repairs, so I paid down **** down and financed 9k to be left in the cold in what I feel was a scam. They knew it was a bad car and sold it without doing their due diligence on either inspecting it or informing me of any serious issues.
