    On 01/11/2022 I called the gym to cancel my membership. I was informed by the owner, *****, that a cancellation would require a 30-day notice. I confirmed that I wished to cancel and was told that it was taken care of. My normal monthly payment of $35 to the gym was taken out of my account on the 15th of every month and I was charged on 1/15/2022; which was expected as it falls within that initial 30-day notice window. The problem is that I was then charged on 2/15/2022, which falls past the 30-day notice window. My girlfriend, who also cancelled her gym membership on the same day and was also charged past the 30-day window, immediately called and spoke to *****. ***** had no recollection of either of our calls and upon looking at our accounts saw that they were marked as "pending cancellation", meaning that our memberships had not been cancelled. ***** claimed that he would "look into the problem" with ************* who handles the gym's billing, but has displayed no sense of urgency regarding this matter since. We took action and contacted ************* and they cancelled our memberships, but informed us that the gym would have to process our refund. Since the initial date of 02/15/2022 when we were erroneously charged we have attempted to call the gym on multiple occasions to ask about a refund. Each time we have called ***** gave different responses that were very dismissive and felt as though he was trying to get us off the phone by claiming he was "looking into it" or that he was busy doing something else and couldn't do anything. We also sent emails and left voicemails that have been completely ignored. The final time I spoke with ***** he told me that he had to contact other gyms to see if he could prorate my annual fee (which would come out on 03/01/2022) which is completely irrelevant to the situation. This behavior is highly unprofessional and I feel like I have been taken advantage of. I only wish to be refunded for the $35.

    I canceled my gym membership on 1/11/22. I spoke with the owner, *****, who said they require a 30-day notice (in my copy of my agreement). He said I was canceled. When I asked for proof of cancelation, he said nothing could be provided! Normally Im charged on the 15th of each month (via ACH) & once/year on March 1 for an annual fee. I expected to be charged on 1/15/22 but knew I shouldnt be charged on 2/15/22. I still was. Right away I called, spoke to *****; he asked who I talked to when I canceled (him), that he had no record of when I called to cancel, that my account only said pending cancelation. He canceled my membership incorrectly, not sure if on purpose or on accident. He said hed look into it, I dont think he is & there is no sense of urgency from him. ************* does the membership billing. I reached out to them ************* ended up canceling my membership properly after I explained the situation. But they said the gym would have to refund me. They said theyd also email the gym on my behalf about the refund, but I havent heard anything further on that. Since 2/15/22, Ive called & spoken with ***** from the gym NUMEROUS times; each time I speak with him I get a different response, he keeps dismissing me/trying to get me off the phone quickly, making up various excuses (Im looking into it or Im outside right now & cant do anything about it). It is clear he doesnt want to refund me for the money that was incorrectly withdrawn to begin with per the terms in my agreement. This was not my fault, I did everything correct on my end. Then, he said he waived my annual fee, but he didnt because that wasnt due until 3/1/22 anyway & is irrelevant. I feel he is giving me the runaround because Im a younger female. It does not seem like he intends to rectify the situation, but he owes me a $35 refund for 2/15/22. Ive also left voicemails/sent emails via their website the past few days, none of which have been returned. This place is a scam.
