****************************** and Professional Detailing (LA Auto) was fraudulent in their paint work on my wife's and my horse trailer. The owner, *****************************, and his mechanic *************************** promised to paint the trailer. We were led to believe it would be from the rear forward to the front. Were we wrong. ******** supplied us with no written estimates for the painting. Initially, we were told by ******** paint job would cost $2000.00. After the painting had started, in his office, ******** told me it would take $4000.00 to paint the trailer. Always demand a written estimate. After we had the trailer in our possession again, we discovered that ********** had only painted the rear door where the horses enter the trailer. LA Auto also power washed the trailer tearing decals and removing seam caulk and paint from the trailer's roof. Needless to say, the trailer leaked and the exposed roof metal, some areas as long as 2 feet, was rusted. 1. The owner of ******************, *******, who specializes in RV and trailer body work along with autos identified the stock door only as having the new paint. (LA Auto mechanic, ***************************, went through great pains to brag to my wife and I on the door he had painted but said nothing about the rest of the horse trailer.2. Further, ******* identified the remainder of the horse trailer as having the original factory paint.3. On delivery and after I had found rust spots in the factory paint on the trailer body, ***************************** stated only the trailer had been done. ***************************** offered to repaint the horse trailer under two conditions: !. My wife and I would not know of the whereabouts of our trailer while it was being painted. We were not to know his painter's name. Should we have needed the trailer to transport a sick horse to the vet day or night, we would not know who to call or where the trailer was located. ****** was concerned about paying for the painter having to do the painting prep work again after we i,:turned it to the painter after our visit to the vet ******** suggestion was "Rent a horse trailer." *********** in ****** recommended we talk with *********************** in ********, ** whose employees not only service horse trailers but builds them. The employee at Victory said they did not rent nor did they know of anyone who rented horse trailers, however, she said we could try some of the larger horse farms. Yet no farms came to her mind. The LA Auto mechanic never sandblasted or sanded the door before he painted it to get rid of the rust. Rust is breaking through the new paint. Assuming we will allow ****** to rectify the painting, my wife and I will know: 1. Of its whereabouts, 2. The painter's name, 3. The painter's phone number, 4. His/her state ID Number, 5. The expected length of time for the job. 6. Should we need to transport a sick or injured horse to the vet at the large animal hospital at *** in *******, **, the painter must be agreeable to letting the trailer go and ***************************** will pay the cost of prepping the trailer again. If ****** agrees to these requirements, we will ask that he pay ***************** for painting the entire trailer Sitting in ***************** lot were two very badly damaged *********************** cruisers awaiting body work. In addition to RV owners, Lapeer County trusts *****************.***************** (*******, owner) ************************************ Phone ******* wrote two (2) estimates: 1. $4200 to refinish entire trailer except the rear door 2. $800 to refinish Rear Door that LA Auto had so poorly done LA Auto charged $3840.04 parts/labor to paint the door only and no painting on the rest of the horse trailer*. 1. $1000.00 for "Paint Supplies" 2 $2840.04 for labor *LA Auto supplied me with no written estimates prior to their work. We will not allow LA Auto to repaint this trailer as they were fraudulent in their actions initially.
