Maria ruined my $5,000 wedding gown after holding it hostage in her tailor shop for nearly 2.5 months, ignoring my requested alterations I wanted for my gown - to be specific, I had asked that she shorten my train, take it in a few inches at the waist and add breast cups. I had dropped the dress off mid-July. Came in to pick up my dress as it was supposed to be completed on 8/21. She had not touched the train, had not taken it in at the waist and she added straps to my strapless dress even though I explicitly asked her NOT to add straps. When I arrived on 9/18 to pick up my dress, again because I was told that it would be finished, I noticed that she still had NOT taken it in at the waist - let me add here, that Maria YELLED at me and told me that she took it in and that I was the problem because I must have lost weight - she left the straps even though I asked for them to be removed, and the train was hacked off and ruined. She removed the bottom horse-hair trimming of the dress, destroying the hemming of the gown. The inside lining of the dress was curling up on the bottom, because she did not properly line up the fabric. She left the other inner layers totally frayed after she had cut them. I took it to another seamstress who confirmed that Maria never took it in at the waist even though she said that she did, that the breast cups were in the wrong spot and that there is irreversible damage to the hemming of my gown. I had to pay $1k for the new seamstress to not only fix what Maria had ruined, but to do the other work that Maria said she complete, but never did. Not to mention she had to do 3 months of work in 8 days, so I could have my dress on time. I want to make sure that no other bride ever has to go through what I went through. Maria should NOT be taking on business that she is not capable of completing, or capable of doing in the first place. She is rude, hostile and had no remorse of the damage that she had done to my very expensive wedding gown.

This customer took the dress before we could finish work the work. We let her take it because she did not want to leave it with us anymore. Nothing was ruined just unfinished. We did not charge this customer for the unfinished work even though she offered to pay. If she wanted to take it before it was completed that is on the customer. Everything would have been completed before the wedding but she chose not to leave it with us. No one was rude or yelling or argued with her when she decided to take the dress. Whatever happened after she took it from us was her decision. I wish luck with everything in the future even though she wants to leave reviews and call every business to disparage us. With over 40 years of service and over 100+ wedding dresses done every year we will continue to do business.
