My daughter's purchase a car from EUROPEAN AUTOHAUS on 6/19/23. An 2011 Audi S4 3.0L. I consigned for her so she could buy this vehicle and get the payment down for her to afford it. She bought a warranty for the car. 1 day after purchase a transmission gear box code came up on the display. She call them and they said have it look at to determine what is wrong. The shop told her she needs a new transmission. And it would cost $15,000 to replace it. She payed $19,511.80 for the car. Apon further investigation online there was a class action lawsuit on this very same transmission gearbox problem that they must have know about before selling her this car. The warranty will only cover $5,000 of the repair which is crazy because the car was bad from the get go! She doesn't have the money to fix this car so it's just going to sit. Very upset!! Here is the lawsuit info. (******************************************************************************) as far as I can tell this is just for original owners only. I want them to pay for the new transmission. This would be the right thing to do. Or take the car back.Business response

**** we are sorry to hear about the issue with the Audi. I spoke with your Daughters Boyfriend and It sounds like he works for the Audi Dealer in the service department; if the vehicle was broken to start with his vehicle knowledge this definitely would have come to light when he and your daughter test drove the Audi. Once a Vehicle leaves your hands, we cannot control what happens to it and that is why we sold it AS-IS and why we suggested a service contract. There was undoubtably outside influences that came once the vehicle left our caring hands that contributed to its now having this issue. *********************** said the vehicle actually needs a mechatronics unit in the transmission. This is a part that is very common to fail on these vehicles when driven hard and there is actually a Mechatronic repair kit for this problem which is about a $2,500 fix all in.... So, your daughters service contract would cover this cost it appears. Taking an older Audi to the Dealer will not be the most economical way to have it repaired as they are only going to want to replace the whole transmission as you stated; in todays world new car stores are just part replacers not service technicians.

I purchased a used car, October 4, 2021, from European Autohaus in Holland Michigan. I overpaid intentionally because they are supposed to be experts in European Autos, they claim to have a reputation of honor, integrity and respect on their site, and because they assured me that they do a 62 point inspection on their vehicles for sale. The salesman even told me not to buy the warranty because it was too expensive and the car was inspected by them. On Tuesday I took it to my mechanic for a look over and to schedule and oil change. With in 10 minutes he found it needed a new transfer case costing $2,000 and said ANY presale inspection would have seen it. I talked with the dealership who said they would split the cost if I used "their guy" and made me send the estimate I received. They said the same price and said with a used part because new ones are not manufactured. They lied again. My estimate was for a new part and the part number was on it. I'm out of trust. help possible?Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/13) */ Contact Name and Title: Justin R*** Contact Phone: 6163960001 Contact Email: [email protected] We are sorry this 18 year old car needs something repaid. However this customers salespersons Terry and Nick told ******' almost pleading for him to purchase a warranty. This fact proven by the GWC Warranty Decline Document we required ****** to sign. We sell all vehicles and did also sell this 18 year old Jaguar in the AS-IS Condition; further proven by the 6 different documents Stating the Vehicle was Sold AS-IS that ****** Signed. These documents clearly State ****** was responsible; statements such as "This Vehicle is sold without any warranty. The buyer will bear the entire expense of repairing or correcting and defects that presently exist and/or may occur in the vehicle " "The Seller does not guarantee the vehicles prior history or condition, its current condition or its future condition or histories" & "any defects that presently exist and/or may occur in the vehicle ". These and several others are to enforce the fact that European Autohaus has no liabilities to the Buyer once that vehicle is purchased. We are still willing to sell ****** a warranty.
