    We have been here for 6 months as "tenants" so you think we would be treated with a certain level of respect and hospitality. Unfortunately, it's just the opposite. We are being harassed and spied on by the hotel staff, accused of violating policies with any proof/evidence, and treated with disrespect by the hotel general manager. We are also now being threatened to be kicked out because they think we are doing something we are not. The very disrespectful general manager has also now added a $250 "cleaning fee" to our account due to unproven accusations. We have always treated the hotel staff/management with respect, reported any issues so they could be fixed and been respectful to other guests. Unfortunately, we have not received the same treatment. We got a "noise complaint" a few months ago at 3pm (yep that's right 3 in the afternoon) because our young daughter was being too loud for a 3rd shifter trying to sleep. During the course of this complaint, the general manager was extremely rude/unprofessional to my fiance and the staff member at the front desk was very rude to me. To keep the peace, we moved to the 1st floor and we thought that solved the problem. However, the staff/management continues to make accusations and spy on us. Since then, we have had guests staying in rooms next to us that have caused issues and OUR complaints were ignored. There have been parties that have woke up our daughter at 2am, there have been guest extremely loud and slamming doors late at night and guests being extremely loud very early in the morning. When we have called to complain it was either completely ignored or we just a "oh sorry we will look into it" complaint. We just want to be left alone and treated with respect. There is no reason for the hotel staff/management to harass and spy on us.

    My room charge of $553.61 was charged to my account twice, ok, mistakes happen, I was told I would be credited within 24 hours, .The manager Melissa said, you use Bank of America, we use Bank of America, I will call them, so they can reverse this immediately, she didn't, I know because when I was charged the $25.00 deposit (should I charge anything to the room, I didn't) twice, I went back down and told Melissa the situation had gone from bad to worse, not only had the second room charge not been credited, now I have a second twenty five dollar charge. She looked at me and said, "When did your room get charged twice?" I said, " you should know since you were the one claiming to have it fixed immediately." I checked out on Sunday, I called the Corporate # on Monday, they were not helpful and said they had nothing to do with their local branches. She did promise me that she would follow their process and I would receive a call from the local manager within 48 hours. I was credited $ 50.00 on Tuesday. My bank account was credited the room charge on Thursday. No call, but guess what, I received two more $25.00 charges. On Friday, I called the hotel, and asked to speak to the manager, it was Melissa. I told her about the additional charges, she said she would look into it, and I told her I was not confident because, she hadn't done anything she told me she would do. I asked to speak to somebody above her, She said, "I am sorry you are confident" and then hung up on me. Their rooms were ok, no better than your average Holiday Inn, who by the way have never made an error, treated me rudely or screwed up my bank account. I would not recommend this hotel, which is in Holland, MI nor would I ever stay at this chain again due to the lack of accountability demonstrated by the corporate office. I am only giving one star because 0 stars was not an option.
