      On November 27, 2024 Thanksgiving evening my son was involved in an auto accident and had his car toad to Merl's storage lot. My son chose to have the car towed to Merl's storage lot on 1946 Will Ave., Grand Rapids, MI 49504. Even though the driver offered to have the car towed to any place my son wanted he was never told how much the storage rates were at Merl's storage lot. The driver indicated my son could call Merl's the following Monday because they were closed for Thanksgiving weekend never indicating how much the storage rates would be. Had we known the storage rates up front we would have had our son make other arrangements. Upon further investigation we discovered there is no listing of any of the rates for storage anywhere, not on their website, business card, nor Merl's office. They do have a small disclaimer on their business card indicating the driver can advise of their rates upon request, but we never got the business card until that following Monday. Anyway, I feel it is a pretty bad business practice that a business feels they have to hide their rates from their customers. I also feel the way the have their practice set up now takes advantage of their customers emotional state having just been in an accident.

      As the father of the customer stated, we were willing to tow the vehicle where the customer wanted; the owner of the vehicle chose to bring the vehicle to our lot. Our drivers hand business cards out to customers with the information needed in order to retrieve their vehicle. The Will Ave lot was open on Friday, November 29th from 9am-5pm to retrieve the vehicle. Our company policy is that the drivers are to hand out the business card to the customer on the scene so they can read the back and understand their options. The driver in this situation has been with the company 10+ years and would've haven given the breakdown had the customer asked or if our driver was unsure, he would've had the customer call the office. We are a 24/7 towing operation and the owner could've called at any point to gain more knowledge about said vehicle

      Very polite on the phone and willing to work with me sending a tow for a friend. Originally told me it was going to take 45 minutes but was able to get there in about 15 minutes. Once there, the driver was extremely polite and very concerned about the children getting to a safe location and home safely. The tow truck driver very concerned with talking with the female owner of the car rather than the male relative that was there and extremely professional in all communication.
