I hired this attorney office to represent me in a very simple divorce. I was constantly having issues getting a hold of the attorney or my paralegal. There were multiple issues in the process on top of not being able to get a hold of anyone at the office; however, My biggest issue was I had no attorney representation during my mediation even after multiple attempts by myself and the mediator. The attorney office called two days later to apologize. I need to schedule a pro con to get the divorce complete and I have tried multiple times to contact my attorney as they still not scheduled that nor will respond to my calls, text and ***** client portal messages. This has been several months of frustration with this **************** especially not responding to emails calls, etc. and extreme delays in timely getting things done. I paid them retention and I have done almost everything myself. I have never written a bad review nor reported someone to BBB, but this is absolute unacceptable and I want to avoid someone else going through this especially during an already hard time as it is going through a divorce.Business Response

May 2024 I paid **** ***** 3500 for a case that he said time wasn't on my side. When he lied to me and told me he was gonna be my lawyer, I have been switched to 2 different ones. I have ******** *****. It took months for me to even get in contact with him. He finally files the paper work but due to the other party not receiving it, he had to re send it, and he never has. Since my court date i have message him 14 times and his secretary with no answers. I have received an email two weeks ago saying that he has filed the paperwork that's not sent it to the other party. Once I ask for a court date then he has ghosted me once again. We have emailed him from my email and from my wife's email with no response. I am a business owner and if I took thousands of dollars of someone and did not complete a job and quit answering phone calls or emails they would get me for fraud and take my license away. Something really needs to be done with this company they are scamming thousands of people.Business Response

If I could rate 0 stars, I would. By far, the worst experience *** ever had hiring a law firm. Attorneys are basically impossible to get ahold of and there is zero sense of urgency, even for time-sensitive matters. I retained this firm for a child custody matter and it took over 4 weeks for my attorney (******** ********) to file my paperwork after I came into the office to fill it out, only to find out that he filed it under an improper case number and then withdrew the motion without even speaking to me first. I found out from the other party that our court hearing had been cancelled by me only one day prior to the hearing. I then hounded my attorney to get the paperwork filed under a new case number so we could actually get this taken care of, and after weeks of asking and being ignored, I ended up filing my own custody case. I hired this firm on August 6th, its now November 20th, and not one thing has been properly handled in that time. Dont waste your time and money with this law firm.Business Response

I hired this law firm in March 2024. After the initial consult and the payment of my retainer, I could rarely get a hold of anyone. Paperwork was supposed to be filed prior to June which didn't happen. Then the lawyer told me he would contact me when he heard from the court giving us the go ahead to file the motion. 2 months later and not a word. An extremely urgent matter occurred and I couldn't get anyone to answer at the firm. Finally left a message stating I was letting them go and another lawyer said he'd take over and it would be done in 4 days. That was August. Weeks went by & again, no one would answer or call or text back. Finally said I was letting them go & wanted my retainer back as they did nothing for the case. Lawyer tried to say he filed with the courts months ago & needed to call them. I told him not to try and file something that day. He still lied to me and called the court and got a hearing scheduled. I spoke with the court and they stated that they were not listed as my attorney on record (which if you had me retained since March, why wouldn't you be my lawyer on record 6 months later??) and also that nothing has been filed. They said the lawyer called and scheduled the hearing, that was it. When I called him out on everything, he tried to convince me to stay. When I said no and I wanted my money back, he tried to turn it around on me saying it was my fault nothing was filed & that he would review the file and get back to me in 4 days to let me know how much would be refunded. He then blocked my phone number. I've tried calling every number I have for them & only got the office to answer once. The person said the lawyer would call me that day. It has been several days since & not a word. No one will answer my calls. I don't live close enough to show up to the office before they close without missing time at work. I just want this nightmare of an experience to be over and get my full retainer refunded.Business Response

Due to the attorney-client privilege, I am at a disadvantage in responding to this complaint. My office drafted the requested document requested by the Client in the time schedule she requested. We obtained a court date in the time she requested. We have a court date presently scheduled.
Client has been demanding and impolite to members of my staff which you can tell by the insulting and demeaning nature of her commentary.
I cannot share with BBB confidential or any information related to my representation.

I am rejecting this response because: it is not true. Paperwork was never filed with the court. Additionally, the attorney called the court to schedule the hearing after I informed them I was letting them go. The attorney stated he would review my file and determine how much of the retainer would be returned. He then blocked my phone number. I was never rude to any of the staff. I did leave multiple messages on multiple numbers requesting he return my call to discuss the refund. None of which were returned although he claims all calls are returned within 24 business hours. I was upset and did leave a message stating he needed to return my call and my money with a specific date or I would have to pursue reporting him and small claims to get my money returned. Lastly, attorney stated in response that a he set the hearing I requested and it is currently scheduled. It is not. I asked him multiple times to cancel the hearing he scheduled without authorization, but he refused to contact me or the court to resolve this. I called the court myself and spoke with multiple people, begging them to remove this hearing from the docket. They told me a lawyer scheduled it, a lawyer needed to get it off the docket. I did what I had to get this off the docket. The last I wanted to do was **** off my judge because a lawyer I fired decided to take it upon himself to put something on her docket that wasn't authorized by a client. And if I didn't mention before, Wealthy Street Law Firm was never listed as my attorney on record with any court. Just another thing they failed to do.

I hired Wealthy Law in Summer 2023 til Winter 2024. I am in a very sensitive and high conflict custody battle in which my coparent is very hostile. I needed a lawyer who could help me tale action when necessary. The law firm passed me to 6 different lawyers in this time, in which I had to reexplain my case and make another plan of action each time. Because of the constant shuffle, my case was not addressed properly and I felt obligated to settle when I should not have. My new lawyer wanted to settle and so that's what happened even tho it was not the right thing to do for my case. A few of the lawyers where highly condescending and I could not tell if they were advocating for my daughter and I. I would call the office for help after my childs father attempted to flee country with our baby, and I couldn't get a hold of lawyer for 2 MONTHS!!! The constant radio silence effected my case and now I have to hire yet another lawyer to fix the order. This law firm is spread too thin and the rotating door of employees makes it very hard to do their jobs effectively. I'd like a partial or whole refund for my troubles and for having to hire another attorney.Business Response

I engaged ********************* and the Wealthy Street Law firm to help with my divorce. ************** pursued me in this matter, sending text messages regarding his interest in my case, his firm, etc. I specifically asked him about handling a **** prior to engaging his services and he assured me that it would be part of his one-time payment. After I retained his services, ************** basically "disappeared". He does not have a designated email address for his clients. He does not offer a direct phone number. After you pay him, he does not respond to text messages, or any other form of communication available. I would contact him to find out the details of my case, when he decided to respond, he was vague and did not provide details. I want to provide one example of his neglect and horrific treatment of his clients: Mediation for my divorce was scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2023 via a **************** On the evening of May 10 at approximately 6:00 p.m., I received a phone call from ***********************, a lawyer who claimed he would be handling my mediation because "***** is busy all day in court tomorrow". I had NEVER spoken to this lawyer, and he had no idea about my divorce proceedings; he had never seen the brief about the case, etc. He was obviously upset with the circumstances because I was very distraught. Mediation was an important part of my divorce. He informed me "***** does this to his clients many times, but don't worry, I am used to it". I was livid. He asked me to send my contact information to him, which I did via text; he never responded to me. I sent a lengthy text message to ************** expressing my disbelief he would allow another lawyer who I never met handle my mediation (transcript available for review) I received a terse text reply he would handle the mediation. This is ONE example of his negligence during my divorce. He now refuses to handle the **** for the divorce. I want a partial refund or finish the job by applying for the ****Business Response

I paid this company the second week of September for a custody case, I had one consult with ********* discussing the other parties custody order they had submitted. now no one will get back to me or answer any phone calls.
