Stenger and Stenger garnished my wages starting 10/02/25 over a credit card bill that is part of my debt settlement plan with REMOVED. I sent the paperwork to FIve Lakes who contacted Stenger and Stenger and were able to settle my debt through monthly payments. I was sent a copy of the resolution with the payment schedule. I signed the paperwork on October 14 2025 and emailed it and faxed it to Stenger and Stenger and uploaded it to REMOVED. Stenger and Stenger has continued to garnish my wages while accepting payments from Five Lakes. Neither Five Lakes or myself has no idea if the resolution offer is still good.

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that Stenger & Stenger started garnishing your wages on October 2, 2025, over a credit card bill currently in a settlement plan with REMOVED(REMOVED), that Five Lakes contacted Stenger & Stenger, arranged a monthly payment arrangement, and that you signed and returned the payment arrangement paperwork to Stenger & Stenger on October 14, 2025, but Stenger &Stenger continues to garnish your wages while also accepting payments from REMOVED, and that neither Five Lakes nor yourself know if the resolution offer is still good.

Please note that the payment plan that was arranged with Five Lakes is in good standing and active, with the firm receiving the most recent installment payment on November 16, 2025. While to date, Stenger & Stenger has not received any funds from the garnishment, the firm has signed a Garnishment release request and shall send copies to the court, you, and your employer. Should Stenger & Stenger receive funds from your employer relating to the released garnishment, the firm will return the check with the request the funds be remitted back to you. Lastly, if you would like Stenger & Stenger to fax or email the Garnishment Release request to your employer, please have Five Lakes contact the firm at the below referenced number to provide the respective contact information for your employer, and the firm can send the release via fax or email.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact our office at REMOVED.  Regards, Stenger and Stenger, P.C.

Company and myself had an written agreement to make monthly payments of $120.00 to resolve my debt, I made each and every payment on time per our agreement. They sought and obtained a judgement in there favor even though I did everything they requested in order to resolve this and believed they were going to allow me to finish making my on time payments per our agreement.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/18/2025

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that you had a written agreement with Stenger & Stenger to make monthly payments of $120.00, that you made each and every payment on time, but Stenger &Stenger sought and obtained judgment even though you did everything requested to resolve the matter, and that you would like the judgment vacated and the agreement honored.

According to Stenger & Stengers records, on or about July 9, 2025, you and the firm agreed to a payment arrangement of $120.00 per month to pay the balance of the account in full. On or about July 10, 2025, Stenger & Stenger received an Authorization Letter from REMOVED. (Solo), signed by you on July 9, 2025, and providing Solo with authorization to communicate on your behalf, and to execute, acknowledge, and deliver any legal instruments. Pursuant to this agreement, Stenger &Stenger mailed Solo the Settlement Agreement, a Stayed Judgment, for signature on or about July 17, 2025. While Stenger & Stenger received your payments as agreed, the firm did not receive the signed agreement back from REMOVED,despite resending the agreement to Solo via email on July 28, 2025, and August 18, 2025, and requesting they review the matter. On or about August 22, 2025,Solo advised the firm that you revoked their authorization.

When the case came before the Court on November 3, 2025, the firms attending attorney requested to continue the hearing to a later date so that the firm could continue attempts to obtain the signed settlement agreement; however, the Court denied the firms continuance request and ordered judgment for the Plaintiff.  The proposed Settlement Agreement, Stayed Judgment would have held all post-judgment collection efforts so long as Stenger & Stenger received your payments as agreed. Similarly, Stenger & Stenger will not proceed with any further post-judgment collection activities, which includes docketing the judgment in District Court, until and unless a default occurs on the payment terms. Finally, the creditor and Firm waived any filing fees in the entered judgment.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact our office at REMOVED.  Regards, Stenger and Stenger, P.C.

I am rejecting this response because: I went thru Solo initially and then went directly to Stenger & Stenger as I was not sure how this worked and I wanted to make sure this was resolved and documented and an agreement in place, this is now going to be reported as a judgment on my credit report which is what i wanted to prevent. To not vacate the judgement and let me finish the payment plan and saying the court would not allow an extension and granted the judgment and attempt to shift blame to the court does not make any sense. I will make my payments as agreed but I will not expect Stenger and Stenger to honor there agreement as thus far a law firm did not honor what they agreed to and decided to push the punishment and embarrassment of a judgement.

    Sincerely,

    REMOVED

My account from REMOVEDwas transferred to this company, I spoke with a gentle man at this company as was told that if I paid biweekly the agreed upon amount that my final payment would be $300. I asked for this payment arrangement in writing and was informed the company does not do this. The company took the final $300 from my account on October 24, 2025. I called today October 30th, 2025, and I was told that I owe an additional$56 which would be gathering interest. I paid this amount with my card today, but this was not what I was told originally, and this company will not send anything in writing with the payment arrangements.

    Business Response

    Date: 11/07/2025

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that you set up a payment arrangement with Stenger & Stenger and were advised that your final payment would be for $300.00, but after you asked for the agreement in writing, you were informed Stenger & Stenger does not provide written agreements. Additionally, you indicated that after the final $300.00 payment was taken from your account on October 24, 2025, you called Stenger &Stenger on October 30, 2025, and were advised that you owe an additional $56.00, which allegedly was not what you were originally told, and Stenger & Stenger will not send anything in writing with the payment arrangements.

Please note that Stenger & Stenger does provide written agreements for payment arrangements, and according to the firms records, Stenger & Stenger sent you the payment plan agreement letter via email on September 23, 2025; you signed the documentation on September 25, 2025, via Docusign. The signed agreement outlined the terms of the payment arrangement, and that $300.00 payments would be processed bi-weekly until the balance is paid in full. The current balance listed on the September 23 payment plan agreement letter was $1,312.74, and the letter stated that this balance may change due to interest. Judgment was granted to the Creditor of this account on July 23, 2025, with Tennessees statutory interest rate of 9.50%; however, please bear in mind that the total amount you paid was $1,316.78, and the post-judgment interest only added a total of $4.04 after the firm sent you the payment plan agreement letter, on or about September REMOVED.

Please also note that the account balance was not paid in full in accordance with the payment plan agreement until after you submitted the final $56.78 payment. Because the account balance did not evenly breakdown into $300.00 payments, the final payment to satisfy the account was only $56.78. Before every scheduled payment was processed,Stenger & Stenger mailed and emailed you payment reminder letters, and each letter included the accounts remaining balance as of the date of the letter. The payment reminder letter and email that was sent prior to your October 24, 2025, payment listed a current balance of $355.97 as of October 15, 2025. Your $300.00 payment that the firm received on October 24, 2025, did not fully satisfy this balance, and accordingly, the firms call agent advised you that the account had an outstanding balance on your October 30, 2025, call.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact our office at REMOVED.  Regards, Stenger and Stenger, P.C.

    Dear REMOVED:

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that you paid off an account with REMOVED& Stenger prior to a hearing date, that you were advised you would not have to attend because the firm would advise the judge that case was dismissed, but you showed up anyway and the Stenger & Stenger attorney was unaware of your payment, that you have provided Stenger & Stenger with your banks contact information to send the notice that the debt has been satisfied and the Courts order to stop the garnishment, but when you call or email the firm for an update, you do not receive a response, and that you would like Stenger & Stenger to promptly send the information to your bank.

According to Stenger & Stengers records, the firm received your final payment to satisfy the debt on August 28, 2025. Following receipt of your final payment, the firm mailed a letter confirming your zero balance on or about September REMOVED, and filed a request to release the garnishment with the Court on September 12, 2025. On September 16, 2025, the Court granted the release of garnishment, and Stenger & Stenger sent your bank a copy of the release order via email on September 22, 2025. In addition to the firm emailing the garnishment release order, the Court has issued a copy of the release to your bank via mail. In regard to your indication that you were advised by a Stenger & Stenger call agent to not appear at a Court date, Stenger & Stenger has reviewed your calls with the firm and found that on your August 27, 2025,call, the Stenger & Stenger call agent advised that the decision to attend the hearing was up to you, but regardless of your decision, the firm would advise the Court that the account was paid and subsequent garnishment was unnecessary. According to firm records, the garnishment proceedings were then dismissed by order of the Court on the day of the hearing, September 8, 2025.Lastly, if your bank requires the garnishment release documentation to be resent, please call the firm at the below number to request the documentation to be sent again, and the firm will email or fax your bank an additional copy of the Courts order to release the bank garnishment.

They sued me in REMOVEDfor a debt that I'm already in repayment on with another collector. That collection company has no idea who these people are or why they are claiming I owe them money. This is fraudulent and the attorneys should be looked at for using the courts in such a manner. The suit is a frivolous and I have to spend the time and money to answer to it.

My bank account was frozen due to a debt owed. I immediately made calls to figure out what I needed to do. A REMOVEDfrom Stenger and Stenger told me that when I paid the debt, call them back with fax number for my bank, and he would expedite the form and get it sent over right away to resolve the freeze. I paid the debt owed immediately after my first phone call with them and called them back right away with the fax number. Never once did they mention that it could take REMOVEDdays to even be faxed. I was just told that today after calling everyday since Monday. Had they been honest with me from day 1, I would have paid my rent with the money I used to pay the debt, and then told Stenger and Stenger to take the money thats frozen in the account. Now my rent hasnt been paid because the transaction is still frozen and I am at risk of my kids and I being evicted due to the transaction not going through. They are aware and they dont care. I do understand that its a process, Im upset and angry that they led me to believe that the account would be unfrozen promptly when its actually a process that takes weeks. This should have been disclosed in that very first call when we discussed the payment, period. Its sad and gross that they take advantage of people in vulnerable positions by purposely omitting information that is extremely important in these situations. This is our life. This is my kids home. The debt was taken care of immediately when I became aware of it. I did what I said I would do and they did not. They blatantly lied about the process and now Im faced with my family losing our home. Disgusting.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/15/2025

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that you paid a debt in full after your bank account was frozen, but Stenger & Stenger has not provided your bank with release documentation to resolve the freeze, and now youre unable to pay your rent due to the unavailable funds; additionally, you state that you were not advised of the turnaround time for the funds to be released back to you, and that Stenger & Stenger takes advantage of people in vulnerable positions by purposely omitting information and lying about the process.

Stenger & Stenger received your payment in full of this account on August 4, 2025, and the account is closed as paid.  Additionally, a copy of a Bank Garnishment Release was faxed to your Bank on August 11, 2025, five (5) business days after the firm received your payment, and a Satisfaction of Judgment was sent to the Court for filing on August 13, 2025. Please bear in mind that the Bank Garnishment was requested by Stenger & Stenger in April of 2025, pursuant to a judgment entered in favor of the Creditor on November 18, 2021. Since the 2021 Judgment entry,Stenger & Stenger has attempted to resolve the matter with you in lieu of proceeding with a Bank Garnishment, including discounted offers mailed to you on or about January 30, 2024, and February 11, 2025, but the firm did not receive contact from you until your August 4th call, at which point the Bank Garnishment had already been issued and lifting the garnishment would require a payment in full and release documentation to be processed, signed, and filed with the Court. As indicated above, the Release of Garnishment was escalated following your payment and faxed to your Bank pursuant to your request.

Lastly, the firm reviewed your calls that occurred on the 4th, 6th, and 8th of August, but was unable to identify evidence of a firm call representative lying about the Garnishment Release process or attempting to take advantage of you. The call representative you spoke with on August 4, 2025, advised that they would escalate the request for the Garnishment Release right away, which the call agent facilitated by internally contacting the firms legal team to begin the Release of Garnishment process. By the agents use of the verbiage right away, you may have taken his statement to mean that the Release of Garnishment would be filed with the Court and faxed to your Bank right away, rather than the call agent informing you that they would promptly request escalation of the document with the respective firm department. The agent did not provide a specific expected timeframe for the document to be finalized by the firms legal team, signed by the attorney, and filed with the Court. This would have provided you with additional clarity on the situation and timeframe expectations. Stenger & Stenger has reviewed these matters with the call agent accordingly.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact our office at REMOVED.  Regards, Stenger and Stenger, P.C.

As of 04/16/25 we have a signed and agreed upon payoff agreement. They then a week later garnished my bank account for the full amount while still being in the contracted pay agreement. Now it is 08/08/25 and they are continuing to take a payment of REMOVEDevery month while my money is sitting at the court waiting for them to request the dispersement.

    Business Response

    Date: 08/14/2025

    Dear REMOVED:

Stenger & Stenger, P.C. is in receipt of your BBB complaint # REMOVEDin which you indicated that as of April 16, 2025, you and the firm agreed to a payoff agreement, but a week later your bank account was garnished for the full amount, and the firm continues to take the monthly payments of $289.50 despite the garnished funds being with the Court and pending Stenger & Stengers request for disbursement of the funds.

Please note that Stenger & Stenger filed the Bank Garnishment request on April REMOVED, prior to the payment arrangement being agreed to on an April 16, 2025,call. According to Stenger & Stengers call records, the firm spoke with you on three separate phone calls on Apil 16, 2025. On these calls, the Stenger & Stenger call agents advised that setting up a payment plan would prevent future Bank Garnishments from occurring, but any Bank Garnishment in progress would require payment in full to halt. As indicated above, this Bank Garnishment was filed and in progress prior to the April 16, 2025, calls;Stenger & Stenger did not file a subsequent garnishment request after you agreed to the $289.50 monthly payment arrangement.

Regarding the garnishment funds that are with the Court and pending a disbursement request, Stenger & Stenger has filed a request with the Court to disburse the funds they are holding from the REMOVEDto the Plaintiff.Additionally, the firm has halted your forthcoming payments pending receipt of the garnishment funds. If the garnishment funds received from the Court result in an overpayment of the remaining balance, the excess funds will be refunded back to you.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact our office at REMOVED. Regards, Stenger and Stenger,P.C.

Received an email from them saying they were were trying to collect money from me from a credit card company. The name they used for me isnt my name (same first name but completely different last name) and Ive never used the credit card company they named.
