On April 5, 2024, I paid $300+ tip to have a Brazilian Blowout treatment applied to my hair. I have had this treatment done approximately 8-10 times previously, so I know what the treatment can do for my hair and the basic procedure for doing the blowout.At the time, I noted that the process time was much faster than typical. Previously, it has taken about 2.5-3 hours for the process, as I have long and very thick hair. This time, I was in and out of the salon in less than 90 minutes. At home, I followed the recommended care procedure. I waited over 2-3 days to wash my hair and used only the specific products provided by the salon to care for my hair. I went back to college for approximately two weeks. When I came home, I told my mom that the treatment hadn't had the typical effect on my hair as my hair didn't feel straighter or smoother or easier to work with. My mom noted that my hair looked about the same and that I should call the salon to speak with someone about the issue. She said that it was too much to spend on an ineffective treatment and stated that the salon owners seemed helpful. She has been going to Lucky, on and off, for about 15 years. I called the salon on or around April 25th and told them the issue. There was denial from the receptionist at the salon, but she agreed to set up a "mini" blowout with the stylist, ******. She said that ****** was going away on vacation, so my appointment would have to be pushed out to accommodate ******'s trip. I was ok with that, so we set up an appointment for May 8th. On May 5th, I became aware of a mandatory lifeguard meeting at my job. The meeting was set for the same time as the appointment on May 8th. I informed the salon of the need to reschedule and was informed that this was not possible as ****** was booked two weeks out, and by that point the Brazilian blowout would have been faded anyway. They refused to reschedule and stated that I would pay full price with a $75 discount.
