On February 02/13/2025. I took my car into the Mechanic One Shop to be repaired. I was hearing grinding noises when I braked, and there were concerns that the brakes would give out while I was driving. I told the attendant the issue and they reported they could fix my car. The shop told me that they would do an initial inspection of the car as a complimentary service of Mechanic One. After inspecting the car, I was told the issues and that they could fix the problem. I left my car there and went back to my home. I received a phone call from the shop stating the car needed an additional repair that would cost an extra $600.00. So, the total amount of the repairs to my car was quoted as $920.62. The shop contacted me after they reported the car was fixed and I took an **** back to the shop to get my car. I paid $920.62, picked up my car and left the shop. Exactly ONE WEEK later, I began to hear grinding noises again from my brakes and it sounded worse than when I brought the car into the shop. I was so disappointed. I then, took my car to a shop in ********, ******** and was told that the place I took it before him did not repair the car and the parts they put on the car were not the ones that would fix the issue. The Westland shop changed the parts on my car, added the new parts, and charged me significantly LESS than Mechanic One! I was charged $392.00, including parts and labor, and a tip for fixing my car correctly. I am requesting my money back for repairs on my car that never happened with Mechanic One.

I took my 2018 alfa ***** to Mechanic One with an oil leak. They damaged my car to the point of interoperability and continued to find it acceptable to charge me for repair. They tried to pass the issue off as pre-existing which after receiving my car back, was determined to be false. Their incomitance and lack of know how has set me back nearly ******. When I initially spoke with the front desk clerk he told me the shop was alfa ***** certified, which was later determined to be false. This alleged pre existing issue should have been diagnosed initially and not led to an engine failure after I was charged over 1600 dollars.

Unscrupulous business practices. Was initially told that the repair invoice could be financed and paid in payments. Upon completion and multiple additional repairs that were high pressure implied the financing promise was a complete lie. Was asked to come switch loaners and upon arrival was told no your car is complete will be released upon $5200 payment. I would have never agreed to multiple additional repairs if I knew I would have to pay the complete bill. My blue book is half the invoice amount. Feel completely bamboozeled.

Lied about repair. Said engine had a hole when in fact it did not. The mechanic was to repair an oil leak by replacing gasket. Apparently he was sloppy and broke the gasket in two. Instead of ordering a new gasket he just slapped it in and used silicon glue which of course didn't work. I paid good money for this phoney repair. I would like a refund.

On 4/7/23 I hit a debris on I-75 in *****. Called USAA, went to appraisal shop: could not do the repair. Called *******************: they don't do body jobs. ***** affiliated body shop was booked thru 5/22. Found Mechanic One via ****** reviews. Put down payment. Parts arrived, the job took longer than expected plus 2 days "just testing" the car. Got spooked. Requested the removed parts, they denied my request. When the car was "ready", they reported "It's hesitating, the codes are leaning towards catalytic converter". Told them the engine was running perfectly fine when I first dropped off the car. Pick up the car ~5:30pm, paid balance by credit card. The hood was crooked, and did not close. The "new" parts were all dented. It drove horribly. Threw check engine light and error messages on display. All within 200ft of driving in 5minutes. Took car back immediately and demanded to see the error codes and took pictures. Never had those errors before. 3 guys were constantly blaming it on the catalytic converter saying "it's normal for ***** to have such errors". Next morning took car to **** All replaced parts were defective. All work was done improperly. Wrong size and type of bolts were used, parts were left disconnected, air manifold was cut, hood latch was damaged and misaligned. I disputed the charges with my credit card, but there is still a check that USAA issued M. One because USAA said they have to pay M. One the balance, because they had approved that. USAA would not give me any more rental cars for new repairs at **** I sent M. One ***** report, called them and recorded the conversation with their consent. They rejected my request for compensation for damages and the rental car. They said someone else could have damaged the car, but nobody else touched it and M. One never "diagnosed" the errors *** found. Mechanic One to compensate for my damages (repair at *** and additional car rental).

Transaction date 9/19/2022 I took my car in because it was overheating and the check engine light was on.They gave me an estimate to change the oil pan and various other things, along with the engine turbo. I asked the mechanic if the engine was good because I do not want to invest a ton of money into a vehicle if the engine is going to go bad anyway. His response was " The only code that is going off is the turbo code, so after we replace that it should be fine."I approved them to replace the turbo and the other things, $4,000.After they fixed those things a week later, I get another estimate to replace brakes, routers and struts. He tells me they need to be replaced but he wouldn't recommend it because the engine has a rod knocking and it's only a matter of time before the engine gives out.I spoke with another mechanic to get a second option. They told me that they DEFINITELY would have known the engine had a rod knocking before replacing the turbo. What they did was extremely unethical. Not only that but they told me they had a payment option so I applied not knowing that it was PREDATORY LENDING at ******% INTEREST!!! Now I have a credit inquiry for this. All around this place is extremely unethical.
