I am reaching out in hopes of receiving assistance regarding a warranty claim that has gone unresolved for over a month. We purchased a Four Winns boat with an active warranty in 2023. A warranty claim was submitted more than 30 days ago, yet despite repeated attempts by both myself and the dealership, we have received no response.***** ******, who we were told oversees warranty claims, has not responded to numerous emails or phone calls. I have personally called over 50 times with no return communication, and the dealer has experienced the same lack of response

This issue was in regards to a trailer concern. We had explained that the trailer has a 1 year warranty that expired in June of 2024. I have spoken with the customer after working with the team here and have agreed to cover this as a one time goodwill. If any additional information is need please let me know.

    Thank you,

    ***** ******

I own a Scarab Jet Boat, they have a defect with a catalyst this has been a know problem with there motors. I have called everyone from dealers of the product, BRP and Scarab HQ. They have been replacing these parts as they also know its a problem but when I call everyone seems to know nothing. A quick ****** search will show how many owners of this boat are very upset and also show how they have been getting this item fixed by Scarab due to the know issue. All I want is the part to fix it. My boat has been down for months. I don't want money from them just the part shipped to my mechanic to be installed.

I have looked in our records and was not able to find a registered Scarab owner by the name of **** ******. If I had the boat serial number I could look at the unit history and see what year the it is. As with just about every boat company ****** doesn't warranty or provide technical support or parts for the engines. The engine manufactures, in this case Rotax by *** provide technical support, parts and warranty for their engine. Without the boat serial number I can not look up date of delivery but ***** has a 3 year 480 engine hour warranty. The customer can contact BRP for technical support at **************.

    Thank you, ***** ******

I am rejecting this response because:

    Sincerely,

    **** ******

**** number# PSBSC140E414 also the engines have 120 hours on it. *** also keeps sending me back to you as the manufacturer. I understand they make the motors which is why I started with them. Than got kicked to you. If you are able to get me this part from them and shipped to me which I dont mind paying shipping that would be great.

********** Recreational Products (Rotax) does not back their product, either does ************ (Rec Boat Holdings, LLC). Our 2019 Scarab 255 boat had a major issue on memorial day weekend, which thankfully didn't leave us stranded with our 3 children in the middle of the lake. Since purchase we have maintained to the highest expectations with *********************, every maintenance record is available and even placed in warm storage during the winter. The boat had 56 hours as of the incident. Simply 6 hours outside of their JOKE manufacturers warranty. We use this boat as a pleasure craft with our FAMILY. We've never even pushed it to its limits. Our first trip out (directly picked up from Skipper Buds), on memorial day weekend 2023 (specifically 5/29/23) there was a LOUD bang and the engine was shut down immediately, which also limited the other engine (spark plug). We pulled the boat, cleaned up the oil from the engine compartment and placed on the trailer the remainder of the weekend. Upon coming home we opened a case with BRP and SCARAB (Rec Boat Holdings) through Skipper Buds (whom we assumed would have some pull since they sell so many), which were reviewed and denied. On a frickin 2 year old boat, with 56 hours! These companies do not stand behind their product and we are out an $80,000 boat for the rest of the 2023 summer ($20,000 motor). WHAT COMPANY IS OKAY WITH JUST SAYING, NOPE, YOU WERE 6 HOURS OUT OF WARRANTY?! ********** Recreational Products (Rotax)? I am someone who ABSOLUTELY praised your boat and 2 of our family members purchased one too. By the way, this was submitted to our insurance which ultimately also denied the claim because the adjuster noted after inspection the "damage is due to wear and tear and latent defect." Wear and tear after 56 hours, this was a DEFECT and they did NOTHING to stand behind their product.I have all paperwork available.

Our records show that the ***** family took original delivery of their Scarab 255 on July 5th, 2019. Any new Scarab since the 2018 model year has had the same warranty policy, all warranties are based off of the original date of delivery. There is a 1year warranty that covers the trailer as well as cosmetic issue with a 3-year warranty covering nonstructural components and a limited lifetime structural warranty to the original owner. The powertrain is covered by a separate warranty from ********** Recreational Products. BRP's warranty is also based on the delivery date and is for 3 years or 480 hours whichever comes first. BRP handles their warranty and technical support and are a completely separate company. I'm not sure where the 50-hour coverage information came from however at the time of the incident on 05/29/2023 it was just shy of 4 years after the date of delivery.

On 6/2/2023 we were contacted by *********** and informed that BRP had denied the claim as the engine was out of warranty (expired 7/5/2022) we were asked to contact BRP to ask for goodwill. We contacted BRP and gave them the information and received a response the next day that the engine out of warranty and BRP would not be able to assist.

Our warranty policy as well as registration information is available if needed in this case.

I am rejecting this response because:  no matter the 3 years, 50 hours on a boat is barely broken in, and I am appaled that either company would deny a warranty claim or a claim of goodwill.

    Sincerely,

This matter needs to be taken up with BRP *********** Recreational Products) it is a engine related issue. We do not provide technical support or warranty coverage on the drive systems that come from engine manufactures BRP in this case. They handle all of their technical support and warranties themselves. BRP's customer service contact number is **************

I am rejecting this response because:

So you build a boat, it's barely used and no longer runs, and now you won't stand behind your product and blame it on another manufacturer?

    Sincerely,
