On February 4, 2024, I received a catering agreement signed by ********* ********* DBA Graze and Gather Maine in the amount of $1248 owed to her for our wedding on October 13, 2024. I signed and returned the contract and sent her a deposit of $200 through Venmo. All expected menu items are listed on the contract. Ms. ******** and I exchanged emails a few other times before the event, and she confirmed she would be supplying gold plates and wooden silverware. She also indicated she would be at our event and replenishing trays of food as needed. On July 19, 2024, I added additional food items (veggie tarts) and she indicated those would cost an additional $192, bringing our remaining balance to $1240. Ms. ********* up until the end of September, had ******** and Instagram business accounts, depicting the quality of grazing tables she provided. I hired her based on these images. She also advertised that she included florals for the tables. The morning of our wedding, Ms. ******** indicated via email she would be setting up our catering at 12:15pm for a 2pm reception and would not be staying to replenish the table as she now had a "family event".The display she created for us looked nothing like those she had advertised. There were no florals or wooden crates. Food items were set on cardboard boxes. We were given white paper plates and white plastic forks instead of the gold plates and wooden silverware she agreed on. The veggie tarts we paid additional for were missing as were the homemade breads in our contract. We were promised charcuterie however there was only a few slices of meat found hidden below the cheeses. The vegetarian sandwiches we requested for those with dietary restrictions were not present either. Overall, the amount of food could no way have been considered enough for 48 guests. The display was a disappointment to myself, my husband, and our guests and I spent my entire reception upset and apologizing to our family and friends.
